Meet the Artists!

Sarah Hardy grew up in Ukiah, CA, where she immersed herself in theatre and dance. She has performed professionally with belly dance troupe "Satya' and Fire Dance with "Luminesque." Sarah began her apprenticeship with Pendulum in 2008, and has been developing her skills in contortion, hoop, trapeze, silks, and straps, among other disciplines. Sarah is also working toward her college degree in theater at Portland State University.

A letter from our Board PresidentAs you may know, Pendulum is celebrating its 10th anniversary this year and will be putting on performances April 17-18 and April 23-25 at the French American International School to celebrate. On Sunday, April 25th, we will be hosting a Community Open House with circus games, contests and fun for the whole family!
In order to make these events a success, we need volunteers. Even if you have only an hour or two to spare, please consider helping out. We need assistance with the following tasks:
◊ Marketing/Promotion of the event to bring in the audience (to include distributing promotional materials, contacting web sites, media outlets, newspapers, event listings or write-ups about local events, etc.)
◊ Procurement of raffle items for all 5 shows.
◊ Procurement of sponsorships (refreshments, for example)

Education Update
Contemporary Circus Summer Intensive
Ages 12-18
June 28- July 2 and July 5 - July 9, 2010

Pendulum's summer intensive is now in its 9th year. This course offers the budding artist two weeks of intensive aerial training (35 hours per week) taught by an acclaimed international coaching staff. With small classes and individual instruction students will gain skills, strength and poise in the air while having fun. Comprehensive foundation of skills will be taught in trapeze, hoop, rope, and silks, along with choreography and character work. Students will also participate in strength training and conditioning classes, stretch/ flexibility/contortion (depending on the student's ability), acrobatics and adagio. The intensive will culminate in a performance of works created at the end of the two weeks.

"Kissing" featured at The Special Event Show
Pendulum's artistic director Suzanne Kenney & her premier partner Luis Torres will be attending The Special Event Show, January 12-15, 2010 in New Orleans, LA. Duo L&S will be performing their signature work "Kissing" and appearing as part of the Grand Finale of the 2010 Special Event Gala.

Pendulum invites you, our supportive community, to join us for our 10th anniversary celebrations in 2010.

Come celebrate with us in an evening of  love, laughter, and aerial antics. Presenting a retrospective of Pendulum's ground breaking creative work from the past 10 years with favorite acts from some of our 15 public shows. Featuring the choreography of Suzanne Kenney, the company, and long time collaborators Nicole Pearson, Tanya Burka, Fabio Dorea and Andrew & Erika Adams.
Join us before the show on Sunday for our Community Open House: circus games, contests, and aerial feats for the whole family. Sunday's show will feature performances by our recreational students, apprentices, and our company.
