Andrew and Erika (Chicago, IL) are veteran performers with the Pacific Northwest's famed cabaret Teatro Zinzanni and have worked with other celebrated companies across Europe and the United States. Erika and Andrew are also long-time collaborators and contributors in Pendulum's shows, and will be helping to remount "DAWN (A New Beginning)" in the spring of 2009 as a 40-minute ground show.

What Are People Saying About Pendulum...
We recently worked with Pendulum Dance Theater for our Brazilian Carnaval party. Suzanne and her performers created an amazing moving performance throughout the event, with many characters, contortionists, etc. They pulled off a complicated, multi layered theatrical event with very little rehearsal time and an unusual venue- and everything went brilliantly!

Each of the performers were truly interested in inhabiting their character and really got into their parts- they were all polite, professional and reliable, not to mention talented! Suzanne and team worked to come up with just the right costumes and had such enthusiasm for our sometimes over the top ideas... Pendulum's presence at Carnaval really 'made' the event the memorable one that it is.

We've had so many compliments on the theatrical entertainment at Carnaval- our thanks go out to everyone who worked our event from Pendulum Dance Theatre!

Thanks again,

Late last fall I read a review of one of your Portland performances. The reviewer contrasted your artists' performances with those of other more prominent companies such as Cirque Du Soleil. The reviewer said that unlike these other groups, you and your company show a great deal of heart. At the time I read the review I wasn't exactly sure what the reviewer meant by that. But having seen the performance you put on for our group, I now understand. Every one of your artists pours him or herself into the performance. These artists are not just going through the motions but rather giving a gift to the audience, and eagerly awaiting their delighted response. At our event this intimate connection between performer and audience was heightened by the physical proximity of the silks to the dinner tables, but I think it must be this same sense of connection that the reviewer felt in your Portland performance, and referred to as "heart." This was an additional and unexpected aspect of your performance for which I am extremely grateful. It made the evening even more magical for our guests.

Best regards,
Suzanne Cohen
