| Greetings!
Happy Holidays to you! This is a special time of year - especially when you have young children in your life. They just get so excited by everything that's going on. It's great fun.
I'm going to keep this newsletter short and sweet so you can just get right back to the real world where there's so much to occupy you this month. Thank you for your loyal readership, and a big welcome to my latest subscribers!

Subscribe to Seth Godin's Blog
|
Seth Godin is the well-known author of Permission Marketing, Purple Cow, Tribes, The Dip. and the upcoming Linchpin to be released next month. He has written a lot of important material for business owners and marketers to deeply contemplate.
I've listened to the audio versions of a few of his books and now feel that I should probably get them all. That will take time. What doesn't take too much time is reading his blog. I subscribe to it so it's delivered to my in-box every day - or twice a day dependent on how prolific he is that day - and it's typically about the length of this article.
Many of the posts are thought provoking and insightful. You can't go wrong taking a few minutes out of your day to read them. In fact if you're one of my clients I insist that you subscribe and start reading this blog. It will enrich our mutual relationship.
Now for an example of how creative Seth is. Here's a little (actually it's not that little) freebie to get you started with his wisdom and generosity. It's a free ebook that Seth oversaw the creation of with contributions from the likes of Guy Kawasaki, Gary Vaynerchuk, Gina Trapani, and Tom Peters among others. Find the free download here. I really like the page entitled, Ease.

Go Somewhere New
|
My anniversary is coming up next month. My wife and I try to take a short vacation at this time to reconnect as a couple and have fun. We've gone to Palm Springs many times and have had great times there. In January the weather is warm, which allows for dining under the stars in the evening. Really nice.
So, when I asked my wife about going there again next year, she said, "Can we go somewhere else?" At first I was taken aback by the comment, but I realized that she was on to something. We need to add newness to our lives from time to time. By doing so we expand ourselves.
The more I thought about it, the more I thought, yes, let's go somewhere else. Somewhere we haven't been to before. We're now thinking Portland and the anticipation of new experiences on the horizon is starting to build.
What about you? Are you balancing new experiences with old? Are you venturing out in the new year and going somewhere you haven't been before? I bet if you do it'll excite and stimulate you.

Time Saving Tips of the Month
|
I have two time saving tips this month. The first is for social networkers that find themselves overwhelmed with trying to keep up with Facebook, Twitter, MySpace and/or LinkedIn. The utility is called Tweetdeck. It's free to download and use and can be found here. I've been using it off and on for a few months and find it fairly easy to set up and use.
And, boy does it save time. I can keep up with 3 different social networks at once. I would pay for it if I needed to. It's that valuable. Give it a whirl if you think you don't have enough time to keep up with social networking. Maybe you just need a good utility to make it easier.
My next time-saving tip is to write down your personal and professional goals for 2010. If you want next year to be a perfect 10, then you need to plan for it. By putting the plan in place now you'll save time trying to figure it out along the way.
Goal setting moves you forward faster. And that will save you time. Maybe I should call this a time saving tip of the year.
If you want help setting your goals, give me a shout. We can go through it together and get it done in no time (the setting part that is).
