Texas Nonprofit News - Legislative Update

IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE AS THE 82ND TEXAS LEGISLATIVE SESSION NEARS:

  • November 8, 2010:   First date to pre-file proposed bills for the 82nd Texas Legislative Session
  • November 1-30, 2010:   Final hearings by House and Senate committees to complete interim charges and studies assigned after the 2009 session
  • January 11, 2011:  First Day of 82nd Regular Legislative Session; continues for 140 days
  • March 11, 2011:  60th day of legislative session; last day to file original bills
  • May 30, 2011:  140th day; last day of session
