Raise Your Voice For Nonprofits!
One of the largest segments of the American workforce is NOT included in health care reform!
DEADLINE: COB Tuesday, October 20th
Please contact your Representative to Congress by close of business this Tuesday, to ascertain if they would be willing to support any proposed health care bill from the House that would ensure that the nonprofit sector receives comparable treatment to the small business sector. Just so you are aware, in response to the need for parity between small for-profit and non-profit employees, both Senate health care reform bills include proposals to address the health care needs of non-profits. The nonprofit sector is the fourth largest segment of the American workforce and generates approximately 12 percent of Gross National Product (GNP). Nonprofit organizations deliver vital services to constituents in the Congressman's district. Below is a letter to from Representative McCollum that illustrates our points as well as a draft of the letter to be sent to Speaker Pelosi and Majority Leader Hoyer. Tell your Representative that you hope we can count on their support at this crucial time. Please let TANO know of any response you receive at info@tano.org either way so that we may inform our partners at the National Council of Nonprofits.

FREE Webinar! Fundraising with Social Media: Introduction
Wednesday 21-Oct-09 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM CDT You've heard the stories. Heck, maybe you even tried it yourself. It seems that everyone knows someone who's used social media to raise money for their cause, but it's never us, or the people WE know! Truth is, raising money with social media isn't very different than raising money any other way. But it will require that we learn some new skills and think approach our work in a different way. Designed for staff who are beginners to social media, this webinar will outline what social media means for fundraisers, give case studies, and set you up to think about your first campaigns. This event is FREE and exclusively for the TANO community. Register at http://nten.org/TANO/events
