The Chicago Recovery Partnership, a cross-sector
collaboration created to maximize the benefits of American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funds for Chicago, recently released dashboards to
summarize the City's ARRA accomplishments.
The dashboards, available on the
Chicago Recovery and Reinvestment website,
reflect the goals of government transparency and data availability that have
guided the partnership.
The Recovery Partnership was established by Mayor Richard M. Daley and is led
in part by Civic Consulting Alliance and our partners. The Partnership draws on the expertise of
City agencies, foundations, nonprofits, and businesses to leverage ARRA funding
effectively. Since ARRA began in February 2009, the City of Chicago has been awarded over $2
billion in federal stimulus funds. In the second quarter of 2010, this funding
saved and created 11,400 jobs for Chicago residents. |
Chicago Climate Action Plan Wins Data Innovation Award

|
The Chicago Climate Action Plan (CCAP) was selected as
a recipient of the 2010 Data Innovation Awards in recognition of CCAP's
commitment to making data about the Chicago region accessible, understandable, and actionable.
CCAP, which is implemented
in a partnership with the Chicago Department of Environment, Global Philanthropy Partnership, and Civic Consulting Alliance, has five strategies
and 35 actions to reduce greenhouse gases and adapt to climate change.
The ultimate goal of CCAP is, by 2050, to reduce greenhouse gases 80 percent below
1990 levels. Our partners have played a significant role in
developing and implementing the Plan.
The Data Innovation Awards are hosted by Metro Chicago Information Center (MCIC), an independent research and consulting group that works with non-profit
organizations to improve access to public data.

Earlier this month, a committee of business people and government officials recommended ways to improve information for tenants and prospective home buyers in Chicago. The committee was a public/private effort to make information available to tenants and home buyers and ensure high-quality construction.
