In-store technique demos
Please join us for our first in-store technique demo, Cardmaking is Sweet!, scheduled for this Saturday, February 5th from 11am-3pm.  Local cardmaker, Carolyn Stoenner will demonstrate professional embellishing techniques such as embossing and die-cutting used to make greeting cards for Valentine's Day and other special occasions. The event is a casual "come and go" affair where customers can choose to practice at their own pace in our Make 'n Take area. This month's demonstration is free and all materials will be provided. |

Hello Everyone!
I'm back at the editor's desk after being honored last month by my very special daughter for my 50th birthday. It was a great day full of flowers, cake, balloons, and best of all, plenty of birthday hugs and well-wishes from some of my favorite people. Thank you so much for coming out to celebrate with me. Besides celebrating birthdays, we were very busy in January cleaning up the store, re-arranging fixtures, doing inventory and most importantly--going to market! At market, we look for products that work hard at being functional in addition to being pretty. When you add quality and value to the mix, then you really have a thoughtful gift that's worth giving. Here's a rundown of a few new products that fit my buying criteria.
1. A great collection of chunky silver jewelry will be arriving in March. Unfortunately, I don't have pictures to show you; it's a brand new line that won't be ready to ship until Spring. The showroom was literally shoulder to shoulder with people going nuts over these bracelets, necklaces, and earrings so we're pretty sure you'll love them too!
2. We found some great new products in the stationery category including address books, journals, photo albums, folded notes, lots of baby, bridal, and birthday invitations, and a huge display of kids fill-in invitations and thank yous.
3. Napa Home & Garden has produced several new designs in the very popular Firelites Collection. A large shipment is due to arrive later this month, along with a supply of gel fuel.
 4. The "Embellish Your Story" line of metal frames, memo boards and decorative magnets has really taken off, and their showroom was filled with tons of new designs. This is such a pretty and creative way to display family photos throughout your home! Our shipment should arrive within the month.  5. A beautiful new shipment of fusion glass is also on its way to the store. You'll find some great Spring designs, wine and cheese-themed plates, and floral wind chimes.
6. Milano just released five new nylon lunch totes in all your favorite colors. The prices are so great you can easily afford to add monogramming for just $10 more!
 7. For babies, we have adorable new bibs and booties with matching paci-clips. And, for the new Grandma, we found a super stylish alternative to the "brag book"--a "photo clutch" available in several gorgeous metallic colors.
8. Wine accessories like aerators, vacuum pumps, stemless glasses, and more will be arriving shortly--hopefully in time for Valentine's Day! Any one of these items paired with a favorite bottle of wine would make a great gift.
 9. We plan to increase our kitchen and entertaining offerings this year, and we're starting off with four beautiful new collections from one of our favorite vendors, Mudpie. Watch for these new products arriving later this month, with a shipment of gorgeous beach-themed product due to arrive in April.
10. My favorite new line has the most beautiful home decorator product I've ever seen. I could wander through their enormous showroom for hours, and in fact, I think I did spend hours there! Look for woodsy, nature-inspired baskets, wreaths, bird houses, pillows, ceramics, candles, and more coming this Spring.
Of course, this is just a taste of what's to come this year. There will also be plenty of Easter basket goodies, fun beach hats, towels and bags as we get closer to summer, and much more. Stay tuned for all the updates, or better yet, stop in weekly to see what's new!
