Have you seen the back-to-school commercial where the dad is shopping for school supplies with his two young children? As the familiar holiday tune "It's the most wonderful time of the year" plays in the background, dad skips gleefully through the mega-store's aisles, sprinkling assorted school supplies into his shopping cart while the kids trudge behind him unamused.
It cracks me up every time I see it.
The giddy anticipation felt in June for all the promise of summer gradually fades as the temperatures rise and the "I'm bored, what's there to do?" doldrums begin to kick in.
