Winter Food Drive

Freedom for Youth Ministries offers the love of Jesus Christ to distressed and impoverished youth which empowers them to break bondages in their lives, discover their God-given purpose and lead a life filled with faith, hope and love.

One way they help accomplish is offering basic necessities to Winter Food Driveimpoverished families and refugees in the Des Moines area through the Freedom Store. They hope that by providing these basic needs, they can show them the love of Jesus Christ that they may put their trust in Him.

The Freedom store relies on many in-kind donations to operate the facilities and provide basic clothing items and food to the people they serve. The food stores for the Freedom Store are dangerously low and the Freedom Store is having to drastically limit what they can offer to people in need.

You may have noticed the stacks of cans in the atrium. Valley Church is partnered with Freedom for Youth and one way we are locking arms with them is by providing for their efforts to feed the poor. If you are moved to help send the 15000 cans of food to an area in Des Moines where people are in need, please give whatever you are able.

Weekly Mission Opportunities!

The James: Mercy Triumphs Bible Study has weekly opportunities of service for women who are taking the study-this is a part of our regular homework.  Our first "Mission Opportunity" is to donate food to those in need.  This is a timely challenge for the Women of Valley Church as we are currently having a church-wide Winter Food Drive.  We encourage all women to take part and do what they can as the Lord directs.

James Study
"This is a Bible Study like no other...Together we will serve our communities. We will do what Scripture says; we will actively love our neighbor as ourselves as we work to put our faith into action. In addition to our regular studies, we will take on a series of Missions Opportunities designed to reach our communities with Christ's love." -Beth Moore

WEEK ONE: MISSION OPPORTUNITY
