A Rising Tide

A sign on the wall at a dock side bait shop read, "A rising tide lifts all boats." From a practical sense, this is very true. Regardless of the weight dispersion of a boat, rising water will push each boat upward. Consider then the same application from a spiritual perspective. We already know what happens when one extremely negative individual enters an environment. It's contagious. Likewise though, if you enter into a situation exuding uplifting energy, you will bring up the level of those around you. Just as negativity breeds on itself, so will the positive. Imagine the impact you can have just by offering a smile, opening a door, or simply offering friendly eye contact. It doesn't take much to shift the tides. Not only will you alter the lives of others, it will alter yours as well. Eventually you won't even have to try to be happy; you just will be. And that kind of tide will lift "all the other boats" in the marina.
