How It's Looked Upon
During a morning prayer, I prayed like I think many do; "help me with this ... help me do that ... make this go okay ..." But I felt interrupted this particular morning. Is this really the right way to pray? My prayer turned to, "Lord I commit this day to you. I want to live it as you wish, and I honor you for the privilege to get to live it." The release that came with that was refreshing. How might life be different if every day began more from thanksgiving instead of pleading? If it was looked upon as an adventure instead of a task or drudgery. Most days life plays out for many as if God is up there and we're down here, and we're waiting for Him to do something miraculous; waiting on Him to make some major overhaul to our life. And all the while, He's waiting on us to embrace the gift we've been given. It's more about our perspective than our need. God has already promised never to leave us to do this alone. "Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you," He said. (Hebrews 13:5)
If your intention were to treat each day as a gift, how might it change your outlook? Commit the day back to God and see how differently it goes. Live it knowing you're not alone. Understand that the challenges are not to prove you wrong, but to make you strong. Life is a journey you ARE on. How you approach it makes all the difference.
