Which Will It Be?
A fellow brother sent me this question; "is our bible written for us to have a devotional or a revolution?" It's a question worth delving into. We often talk about our devotional time with the Lord. But I wonder, what is the result of those few intimate moments? Is reading the Word something we're supposed to do? Do we do it because the pastor implied we should? The Bible is so much more than ink on paper. God's word is our comfort; it's our source of life; and it's our action plan. Who we are is what Christ did for us on the cross. What we do with our life after that is carefully authored and cradled in the Holy Words of Scripture. Answers to questions like what do I do next; How do I handle this; When should I do that; can all be settled in the Word. Jesus' life and the Words of the Bible can revolutionize your life, or we can view them as simply a nice read, and say I hope that's true. Which will it be?
