If We Don't Listen
Here's a something to ponder; Jesus said, "whatever I say is just what the Father has told me to say." (John 12:50b) Believing that our life here is supposed to bring us to the place of being more like Jesus, wouldn't it fit then that this verse has relevance for our lives as well? If Jesus only said what Father God told Him to say, shouldn't we also consider the importance of this? More times recently than ever for me, this has proven to be a most fruitful application. As I begin to really take this Scripture to heart, I am coming to understand how crucial it is for much of life's situations, to guard my tongue, check with Jesus, and chose my words carefully; only saying what "the Father" tells me to say. Living water cannot flow out of a dirty spring. Our words have the power to bring life, or bring death. What we say, and how we say it is vital to every encounter we have with another person; especially those within our own circle of influence. Those impartations have to begin with a conversation with our Father. And we cannot hear if we are not listening.
