My new book should be out in a couple weeks. It's a collection of stories written over the past few years, compiled together as part of my on-going journey with God. Over the next few weeks the Daily Life Journey will feature excerpts from those stories.

Kingdom Significance
"When we seek validation and significance from this world, we do get it. And it will lift us up, for a time. But the worldly glory fades faster than you can blink. And we're left with nothing to show for it. In an instant, a season turns in another direction, and you're out in the cold looking into a world that once was. And glory that once was.
Our significance must come from one source only. And that is done by seeking the will of God, not the praise of men. Jesus said, "seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well." (Matthew 6:33) As Christians, we have forgotten who we are, and why we are here. Actually, more to the point, many of us haven't been taught. Imagine, if we really sought Jesus in everything we do. If we really put all personal agendas aside, if we really unattached ourselves from all of the filters, and all of our religious ideology, and sought only the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; what would happen?
There is freedom in that. I don't need the world's pats on the back. I only matter to God. And if we seek God first, before all things, our actions here in this world will be for the advancement of the Kingdom, and nothing else. Worldly glory won't matter. I won't care if you notice me. If I'm doing God's will, then He sees me. Our validation comes in the end when we here Him say, "well done, good and faithful servant." Can you imagine what the world would look like if the people of this generation, who call themselves Christians, would lay aside their need for validation and just serve God?"
