Freedom And Peace

Daily Life Quote:
"With this magnificent God positioned among us, Jesus brings us the assurance that our universe is a perfectly safe place to be." Dallas Willard

Daily Life Verse:
"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:1)

Daily Life Thought:
What is peace? Look around. Do you see much peace present today? Me either. So how can we believe like Dallas Willard says, "that our universe is a perfectly safe place to be," and when Paul tells us that we "have peace with God?" Could it be there is something available to us as believers; as those "justified through faith," that the world around us doesn't have? Something we're not tapping into? Webster's defines peace like this; "a state of calm and quiet; freedom from disturbing thoughts or emotions." As believers we have access to the Father through Christ; access to the means of "freedom from disturbing thoughts or emotions." Jesus tells us, "do not let your hearts be troubled." (John 14:27) And in Luke (7:50) He says, "Your faith has saved you; go in peace." The key though is what He tells us in Matthew (11:28), "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Oh, how we forget that. It's the peace Christ offers, if we'll bring all our disturbing thoughts and emotions to Him. The world around us is falling faster each day. But the Kingdom of Heaven is always safe. There, at the throne, we can find peace, and rest, and strength, and courage to go out

Daily Life Discovery:
How are you experiencing the peace of Christ in your life today?
