The Unknown Country

Daily Life Quote:
"Never forget that life can only be nobly inspired and rightly lived if you take it bravely and gallantly, as a splendid adventure in which you are setting out into an unknown country, to meet many a joy, to find many a comrade, to win, and lose many a battle." Annie Besant

Daily Life Verse:
"Do not be afraid or discouraged, for the Lord is the One who goes before you. He will be with you; He will neither fail you nor forsake you." (Deuteronomy 31:8)

Daily Life Thought:
There are very few guarantees in life. Everything is subject to something else. And one decision hinges on another. It is so easy to get bogged down in the mire and muck of the mundane of everyday existence, that we forget where we really are and why we're even here. If you live your days out of context of the bigger picture, it can get really frustrating. The battle is often trying not to live from mountain top to mountain top. Most of life exists in our valleys. If you've watched many movies, you know it's always the valleys where the main characters encounter the "splendid adventure." The valleys are our "unknown country." We won't win all of the battles we face there. And how we handle the losses can determine how we approach the next crook in the road. Will it be "bravely and gallantly"? The key here is that we must remember who goes before us. You will spend most of your days in the valley on your face in the mud if you don't learn to lean on the One who guides you for your strength and encouragement.

Daily Life Discovery:
Does your everyday life feel like an adventure to you, or more like something you're just trying to get through?
