Cloud Moments
Daily Life Quote: "As long as the cloud is determining the route, we can be sure that God will fight on our behalf. Otherwise, we are on our own in enemy territory."
Daily Life Verse: "By day the Lord went ahead of them in a pillar of cloud to guide then on their way ..." (Exodus 13:21)
Daily Life Thought: I think many of us today have what I call "cloud moments," but we spend most of our time following our own plan. We get a glimpse of God's direction, hoist the sails, and let loose without ever checking the compass along the way. You know as well as I that it doesn't take much to push us off course. And even though the winds of life might be subtle, a degree or two off here and there calculates into a major course change if we never readjust the sails. We wake up one day miles off course and wonder how we got there. Our bow must always be pointed to the "pillar of cloud." Where it points, we must follow if we hope to finish well. It's not about duty either. It's about clarity. If the "cloud" determines the route, we can trust that God will see us through; even when it seems hopeless.
Daily Life Question: Can you sense God's constant leading in your life; or do you feel like it's more like a series of "cloud moments?" How can you keep your "bow" fixed more often on the cloud?
