Relentless Drift

Daily Life Thought:
God is speaking to all of us; the saved and the unsaved. He doesn't want any one of His children to perish. Yet there comes a day when we must decide to heed His voice. Once we do, there is everlasting life as a reward. Jesus then tells us, "my sheep hear my voice." He continues to speak to us, however the communication is now different. Because He wants the best for His children, He is always calling us to deeper communion with Him. He is continuously nudging, and prodding, and whispering directions to the inner most places in our soul. The tragedy is, many Christians only heed the first call to life, setting out from there on a journey of relentless drifting, ending up at the conclusion of life looking backwards regretfully. Philosopher Jim Rohn said, "regret weighs pounds, discipline weighs ounces." What lies ahead of us might seem like a lot of work, but the weight of regret at the end of life is a burden none should bear.
Daily Life Question:
Are there places in life where you have been drifting? Is there a different course you could choose now that would greatly minimize regret later?
