Fully Trained
Daily Life Quote: "As children of God, it only makes sense that we should strive to know all we can about our heavenly Father, His will for our lives. Taking a casual approach to our beliefs nearly guarantees frustration and misunderstanding in our relationship with God." David Horton
Daily Life Verse: "A student is not above his teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like his teacher." (Luke 6:40)
Daily Life Question: How have you experienced God working in your life lately?
Daily Life Thought: Does the idea of spiritual "training" frustrate you? I know someone who proclaims Christianity as their faith, yet there is no visible evidence of that shining through their life. They take their all frustrations out on those around them. Their life doesn't draw anyone in. Jesus said people will know us by our love. I take that to mean by the way we live, and demonstrate our care and compassion towards others around us. Taking a casual approach to our faith leaves one empty and frustrated. If you call yourself a Christian, but find life more frustrating than joyful, maybe a deeper look at the life of Christ is in order. Training should not feel like work. Knowing Christ and learning to be like Him should feel like a privilege. If it doesn't, maybe there's something you've misunderstood.
