Greetings!

I wanted to update you on 88.5 FM WEPC in Belton, SC.

Community-Funded WEPC-FM Off Air

Belton, SC - WEPC-FM, a community-funded radio ministry of Toccoa Falls College is off the air due to antenna issues. About two weeks ago, station chief engineer, Marty Lee, had received a number of phone calls from listeners complaining of being unable to hear WEPC-FM. Upon investigation, a few burned out sections on the station's coaxial line, which connects the transmitter to the antenna, were found. The current antenna, which is nearly 20 years old, had some damage as well.

According to Lee, "We are very fortunate that the parts needed to repair the antenna are still produced and are currently available. We should have all the parts necessary to repair the damage and back on the air in a short amount of time." Station management is now hoping the weather will cooperate with the antenna crew.

Station Manager, Bryan Race, says, "Several years ago when our antenna at 90.0 was damaged by lightening, our listening friends were extremely generous in supplying the necessary funds to get back on the air. We are very grateful to everyone who helped us then and to those that are making contributions now to get 88.5 FM back up and running."

Only $10,000 is needed to complete this project and contributions are being accepted. If you would like to contribute toward the repair project please send your gift to: Toccoa Falls Radio-WRAF, P.O. Box 780, Toccoa Falls, GA 30598. When making out a check write "antenna" in the memo line. You can also contribute on-line at www.myfavoritestation.net or by calling 800-251-8326.
