Are you ready for the
Olympics?
With less than a month to go before the Olympic Games
start in Beijing, China; there are some technical breakthroughs that will
enhance the broadcast of the games. For the first time in history the Olympics
will be streamed online. Microsoft Corps.
is teaming up with NBC to bring 3,600 hours of coverage to your home
computer.
www.NBCOlympics.com
is being powered by Microsoft's Silverlight technology. If you're wondering what Silverlight is,
Silverlight allows you to play Windows Media Video (.wmv) files on either Mac
or PC with 720 dpi Hi-def (high definition) quality. I will be watching as much Olympic content from
the internet as I can, and will bring you a review on how Silverlight performs
during the games.
I have been teasing for a while now an "ASK FLASH" section. Well in my next post I will be adding this
section to my post. I will take one question each post and try and answer some
of your technical questions. So, if you
have any questions or comments, please feel free to email me at wraf.techspot@gmail.com
or write me here at the station.
