Tech Spot
Kevin "Flash"Klump

Welcome to Tech spot. There are two purposes for this column; one is to help clarify some of today's technological terms, such as Wi-Fi and Blogging. The other purpose is to give advice on what to look for when buying some of the new fangled gadgets.

Currently, I am in the process of changing some things with the Tech Spot articles, and could use your help.  If you have any ideas, comments, and/ or questions.  Contact me at kklump@tfc.edu
Here are a couple ideas that I have come up with so far.

Coming soon to Tech spot:
1.   Audio and/ or Video podcasts of Tech spot articles
2.   Ask "Flash":  in future articles I will be answering your questions.

The Jody Hice ShowJody Hice

WRAF begins a new partnership with "Let Freedom Ring Ministries." The Jody Hice Radio Show will air weekday afternoons at 3:30 beginning June 30.

Dr. Jody Hice, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, has served as Senior Pastor of Bethlehem First Baptist Church for the past ten years - a congregation
recognized as being one of the fastest growing in the state. While fulfilling his responsibilities as Senior Pastor, Dr. Hice has always been involved in local issues that threaten the rights of individuals and religious liberties.

The goal of the program is one of educating & informing you about the issues that threaten our nation's Judeo-Christian values and foundation.

According to Jody, "It's a fact, communicating information empowers people to the point they can become intelligently involved if they wish -- helping restore America to her historic Godly heritage and moral base."

4 Masterpieces that Define Our Nation-Narrated by Max McLean.

Max Mclean

  • The Declaration of Independence (1776)
  • The Preamble to the Constitution (1787)
  • The Gettysburg Address (1863)
  • Lincoln's Second Inaugural (1865)

These four inestimable works of rhetoric are meant to strengthen our understanding of what it means to be an American, and why the American political soul is so drawn to Divine Inspiration. Within these four great pronouncements of American conviction is the belief that while all people are equal, we are equal under God. As is said in the conclusion of the Declaration of Independence, while the signers mutually pledged to each other their lives, their fortunes and their sacred honor, they did so "with a firm reliance on the Protection of Divine Providence."

Heartbreaking Story

Dennis and Barbara Rainey

Dennis and Barbara Rainey openly shared this past week on FamilyLife Today the heartbreaking story of their newest grandbaby, Molly Mutz, who lived only seven short days.  Barbara kept a journal of her thoughts at her Empty Nest blog.  As I read about their tragic loss, I couldn't help but be encouraged by the loving and close relationship of their families as well as the hope and confidence they have in God's sovereignty.

As you think of the ministry of FamilyLife in the coming weeks, I know they'd appreciate your prayers for the Rainey and Mutz families, but especially for Molly's parents, Rebecca and Jake.

Program Changes At WRAF
  Money Life

"Wisdom For The Heart"  is an international Bible-teaching ministry based on the sermons of Dr. Stephen Davey, founding pastor of Colonial Baptist Church in Cary, North Carolina. This radio program is unique because it brings you through the Bible book-by-book, verse-by-verse, sometimes word-by-word! Stephen encourages you to live holy lives for the Lord Jesus Christ through the timeless, timely, life-changing Word of God.

Tune in every Saturday at 6 AM and Sunday at 6:30 AM on WRAF beginning July 5.
What is a Christian?

Read: John 15:18-20

What is a Christian? In the Letter to Diognetus, dating back to the second century, an anonymous writer described Christians:

"Christians are not differentiated from other people by country, language, or customs; they do not live in cities of their own, or speak some strange dialect. They live in both Greek and foreign cities.  They follow local customs in clothing, food, and the other aspects of life. But at the same time, they demonstrate to us the unusual form of their own citizenship."

"They live in their own native lands, but as aliens. They marry and have children but they do not kill unwanted babies. They offer a shared table, but not a shared bed. They are passing their days on earth, but are citizens of heaven. They obey the appointed laws and go beyond the laws in their own lives."

"They love everyone, but are persecuted by all. They are put to death and gain life. They are poor and yet make many rich. They are dishonored and yet gain glory through dishonor. They are mocked and blessed in return. They are treated outrageously and behave respectfully to others."

"When they do good, they are punished as evildoers; when punished, they rejoice as if being given new life. They are attacked by Jews and are persecuted by Greeks; yet those who hate them cannot give any reason for their hostility."

If you are a believer, the Bible commands you "not [to] conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind" (Romans 12:2). And you can expect the world to hate you as a result (see 1 John 3:13). Continue to be sanctified by the truth of God's Word and be in the world but not of it (see John 2:15).

PRAYER CHALLENGE: Pray that God would empower you to always be set apart, even when the world hates you, so that others can see the difference Jesus has made in your life.
