Chuck Colson

Radical Muslims Are "Better Theologians" than American Christians According to Evangelical Leader

Former Nixon Aide Chuck Colson Says American Christians Lag Woefully behind Radical Islamists in Knowledge of Their Own Faith

In his new book The Faith, former Nixon aide and Watergate conspirator Chuck Colson works to equip his fellow Christians who he says are ignorant of their own faith.Colson maintains that radical Islamists have a better understanding of the Muslim faith than most Christians have of Christianity.

While 60 percent of Americans can't name five of the Ten Commandments (p. 28), Colson fears that today's Christian Americans aren't able to do much better. Learn More

Tech Spot
Kevin "Flash" Klump

Welcome to Tech spot. There are two purposes for this column;one is to help clarify in layman's terms some of today's technological terms, such as Wi-Fi and Blogging. The other purpose is to give advice on what to look for when buying some of these new fangled gadgets.  Now let's getdown to it.

In my last post we discussed, "What is WIFI?" This time we tackle the issue of streaming.

What does it mean to stream audio or Video?

Picture filling up a glass of water from a faucet, the water comes out of the spout in a focused stream and fills the glass. The same principle applies to Streaming audio and video on the internet, take for instance the site YouTube. YouTube is a site where people can upload video from various sources so others can view them online. What happens, is that when a person clicks on a video to view, The site will play the video clip on the user's computer without needing to be downloaded first. This allows the user to view video and listen to audio without filling up the hard drive.

This also allows users to be able to listen to radio stations in work situations where radio signals are hard to pick up. It also allows the radio station have a bigger scope of impact.

WRAF Is heard on the internet at myfavoritestation.net, and has 3 choices for the listener to choose from;

CARE-A-THON 2008

Ellen

Ellen listens to and supports WRAF as the result of a crisis which hit her family several years ago. "My teenage son began using drugs quite heavily and became very rebellious to the things of God. One day when the situation seemed hopeless I stumbled upon your station and June Hunt's radio program Hope For The Heart. She was talking with a mother whose son was using drugs and the advice she gave that woman I was able to apply to my situation. The tough love principles I employed saved my son's life and today he is clean and about to marry a young Christian lady he met at church. Thank you June for your ministry and thank you WRAF for being there when we needed you the most." Your gift today to WRAF may just make a difference for another struggling teen and their family. You can contribute online. Care-a-thon 2008 on WRAF, where together we are caring for our neighbors by sharing the Word of God.

WRAF wants to know your story

I am a missionary in Albania who grew up in North Georgia listening to WRAF.  We just got internet in our home in January.  Needless to say good Christian teaching is not as available here as in the US.  Now when I'm around the house I can listen to great teaching and music online.  I just wanted you to know you're making an impact on me on the other side of the world. - Meridith

The Godly Quality of Generosity

Generosity

PROVERBS 11:24-25

As a child, I lived with my mother in a single-room home. She made just enough money for food, clothing, and rent. Most Saturdays, another boy came to the door and asked, "Do y'all have anything to eat?" I'd look in the icebox and see perhaps a piece of fruit or a few eggs and little bacon, and not much else. But my mother always found some food for that boy.

Generosity is an attitude of sharing gladly whatever we might have, regardless of wealth. Scripture reveals liberality is an attribute of God. (Deuteronomy 28:12, Ephesians 3:20) And as part of His transformative plan for believers, the Father desires that we develop a generous spirit.

A bighearted approach to our time and material goods begins by giving ourselves to God. When we accept that He owns everything, we can hold our small share with an open hand. But the choice to nurture generosity is based on our trust. Instead of adding figures to see what little amount we might squeeze out for charity, Christians give sacrificially by faith. Hebrews 13:16 (NIV) tells us, "Do not forget to do good and to share with others, for with such sacrifices God is pleased." The Lord responds by supplying enough to cover the gift and our own need. (Luke 6:38) Only through giving do we learn that God cannot be outgiven.

Some Believers choose selfishness and rebellion, but God promised a form of poverty-whether financial, emotional, or spiritual-to those who do. Instead, make a decision today to cultivate a generous spirit for the Lord.

Dead Heat
Win "Dead Heat" by Joel Rosenberg

"I pray to God this novel never comes true," says Rosenberg.

For Jon and Erin Bennett, the world seems to be spinning dangerously out of control. A new dictator is rising in Iraq. China is making threatening new moves toward Taiwan. North Korean forces appear ready to strike south. Israel is feverishly trying to complete the Third Temple. Oil prices are surging. And in the wake of an horrific war in the Middle East, President James Macpherson's second term is coming to an end. Now the battle to succeed him is heating up into one of the most fiercely contested presidential elections in American history, and the Bennetts realize the stakes could not be higher. Who will lead a bitterly divided country over the next four years? What can the U.S. do to shape the new world order? And just what role--if any--does the U.S. play in the last days? As the presidential campaign narrows into a dead heat, the Secret Service learns of a catastrophic plot to assassinate one of the candidates--but which one, and can the terrorists be stopped in time?

National Day of Prayer

National Day of Prayer

The National Day of Prayer is an annual observance held on the first Thursday of May, inviting people of all faiths to pray for the nation. It was created in 1952 by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, and signed into law by President Harry S. Truman. Our Task Force is a privately funded organization whose purpose it is to encourage participation on the National Day of Prayer. It exists to communicate with every individual the need for personal repentance and prayer, to create appropriate materials, and to mobilize the Christian community to intercede for America's leaders and its families. The Task Force represents a Judeo Christian expression of the national observance, based on our understanding that this country was birthed in prayer and in reverence for the God of the Bible.

WRAF encourages you to participate in this day of prayer.  For more information, click on the image above or go to www.nationaldayofprayer.org
