Tech Spot
Kevin "Flash" Klump

Welcome to Tech spot. The purpose for this column is to help clarify in layman's terms some of the technological terms that are being thrown around and to give advice on what to look for when buying some of these new fangled gadgets. So what do terms like WIFI, MP3, and audio streaming mean, and how do they apply to the changing face of Radio? Let's take a look at the first term.

What is WIFI?

In a nutshell, Wi-Fi is technology that allows users to do things wirelessly. This technology has been used to allow computers to access the Internet without being connected to a modem. It is now being used in Portable Media Players, like the Microsoft ZUNE, to allow the user to share pictures, videos and music with other users wirelessly. Other devices developing the use of WI-FI technology includes, TV, DVD, and Digital Cameras.

So what does this mean for radio? The use of Wi-Fi Technology enables the user to access Internet Radio stations, and download music without having to be tied to a computer. For a more in depth look click here.

You Can Make a Difference as a Teacher

TeachersThey're really something, aren't they!? Do you remember the classroom teacher who taught you how to read?  Or the one who taught you that it was just as important to listen as to talk? How about the one who helped you discover you had a gift for writing or encouraged in you in your love for history?  Or the one who insisted that you take responsibility for your own learning? The Toccoa Falls College School of Teacher Education invites you to touch the lives of students, in classrooms throughout America and in foreign lands, through the ministry and artistry of teaching. Charles Morris A Heavenly Song

"Then I heard every creature in heaven and on earth...singing, 'To him who sits on the throne and to the Lamb be praise and honor and glory and power for ever and ever.'" (Revelation 5:13)

We've heard some beautiful music on this earth, but nothing like what we'll hear in Heaven. The apostle John got a preview of what that will be like. Exiled on the island of Patmos because of his activities as a missionary for Jesus, John had a vision or "revelation" from God.

We may have questions about the meaning of some of the unusual things John saw, but he gave us a wonderfully clear picture of heaven. His descriptions of a perfect place-no night, no pain, no sin, streets of gold, seeing Jesus face to face-are enthralling. But John also let us know what we'll be doing in Heaven-praising the Lord. And that praise-gathering will not be made up just our contemporary believers. It will also include thousands upon thousands of angels and believers past and present throughout time.

The songs we'll sing will have one theme forever and always: praise for our Lord and Savior. Just imagine spending eternity singing perfect praise to Jesus from a perfect heart!
