Dear Parents,
I want to thank all of the parents who re-enrolled by the March 15th deadline. Your timely response allows us to gain a more accurate sense of the families who will be returning to Gateway School in the fall and to plan accordingly. Gateway determines its budget for the upcoming year based on the number of enrolled students, and we will now be able to plan for hiring Teachers' Assistants in our classes, updating our technology and curricular needs, staffing for middle school electives and our Life Lab science program, and allocating resources for financial aid and professional development.
This morning we held a drawing for a 10% discount on tuition for one child entering grades 5, 6, 7, or 8 and one child entering grades 1, 2, 3 or 4. In order to be eligible, all forms and deposits had to be submitted before the 5:00 p.m. deadline on Thursday, March 15th. At the drawing, a rising 7th grade student was selected for the first discount and a rising 1st grader for the second. Both sets of parents have been notified, and needless to say both were excited by the news. I appreciate all of the families who submitted their re-enrollment forms on time for helping us to ensure that the process is as seamless and expeditious as possible for our admissions and business offices.
Now that the deadline for re-enrolling has passed, we will begin to offer spaces to outside applicants. It is possible that returning students who have not returned a contract may lose a place if a grade is fully enrolled. To avoid this situation for your child(ren), please contact us as soon as possible to let us know your family's intentions for the next school year. We are grateful that you have chosen to continue your child's education at Gateway School and we are excited to begin planning for the engaging programs that inspire your children and enrich our community.
