Financial Aid

Financial Aid application deadlines:
The deadline for completing applications for the first round of financial aid grants has now passed.  Families may still apply for aid at this time in order to be considered in the second round of awards. See the Financial Aid item at the bottom of this page for detailed information.

Percy's Blog - Learning on the Edge

As part of our faculty professional development system, I conduct a series of formal observations of teachers throughout the school year. These formal observations, and the informal drop-ins that accompany them, offer a window into our teachers' work with your children, the preparation that goes into crafting an engaging lesson, and the high level of expertise and professionalism that our teachers bring to their work. At a K - 8 school, I am exposed to students' working through various academic challenges, from early literacy skills to complex geometric proofs. At times one can forget how difficult it can be to acquire, process, synthesize, and incorporate new material.

Spring Around the World

Thursday March 22 12-2:30

Families are invited to join in the festivities. There will be an all-school pot-luck at noon. Please email Andrea Hultzen
drehultzen@gmail.com or sign up by clicking here to bring a dish to share. Food should be vegetarian and finger foods for +/-25. Please be sure your dish is well-labeled.  Feast will be followed by an afternoon of music and dance from around the world and an International Village with crafts, henna, music, etc hosted by Gateway families.

In keeping with Gateway's Green Initiative this will be a "no waste" event. Please have your child pack a reusable lunch kit, including plate, fork and cup.

Send along the recipe!  We are hoping to create an International Cookbook and would love to collect any recipes you use and traditions around this food.

Financial Aid 2012-13

Financial Aid for the 2012-2013 School Year:

On the Tuition and Financial Aid page of our website (http://www.gatewaysc.org/admissions/tuition-financial-aid/), you can download a financial aid packet that provides all the information and forms you will need to apply for financial aid.

In order to apply for aid, you must file an online application through the FAST (Financial Aid for School Tuition) system and you must mail to FAST a copy of your complete 2011 tax returns.  If you are divorced, separated or never married, please be aware that each parent must file a separate FAST application and each parent must submit a copy of his or her complete 2011 tax returns to FAST.

Families who completed their FAST applications by February 15th and mailed in their 2011 tax returns to FAST by February 24th will be considered for the first round of financial aid awards (the round in which the bulk of our financial aid budget is awarded).  Families who complete their financial aid process after these dates will be considered for awards on a rolling basis, until the funds in our financial aid budget are exhausted.  Please contact Rima in the Business Office at x 308 if you have any questions.
