Summer Is Almost Here!
Before we take a break from our A.T.M. class schedule in mid-July, we want to share with you an opportunity to advance your studies of the human nervous system. The FGNA is sponsoring the Esther Thalen Research Symposium to coincide with its annual Feldenkrais Method® Conference in September.
The keynote speaker, world-renowned neuroscientist Dr. Michael Merzenich, and others will present ground-breaking research on the function of the brain at this exciting event, "Embodying Neuroscience." The entire conference schedule is available at www.feldenkrais.com. The conference will be held in San Mateo, California, August 30 - September 5 and is open to the general public.
Our featured article is drawn from SCIENCE NEWS, which published a three-part report earlier this year entitled Demystifying the Mind. Laura Sanders' article "The Emblems of Awareness" looks at the scientific search to explain how the brain references itself. Or in other words, "How do I know that I am me apart from the rest of the world."
Our Sunday workshops have come to an end until the fall, but we still look forward to seeing you in our weekly A.T.M. classes before we break for the summer.
See you in class!
