November/December 2011
TRICK OR TREAT!
The nights grow longer and the days shorter as we head into the wonderful holiday season, so it is more important than ever to create time to take care of yourself with a weekly group Feldenkrais class. This fall we are proud to show off our freshly painted and carpeted group classroom and are pleased to announce a full schedule with classes every day of the week! Our experienced teachers and limited class size allow for individual attention and pleasant small group interactions.
As always, the Center presents a rich selection of Sunday afternoon workshops. Now through early January, you can "get balanced" and roll into Halloween with Marilyn's help, learn to walk the walk and talk the talk more effortlessly with Bob and Rachel, or dream the impossible dream in Sharon's stimulating workshop.
Here is a link to an informative three-minute video from the Frederick NewsPost that gives a clear answer to the question, "What is the Feldenkrais Method?" We hope that you enjoy it and we encourage you to forward the video link (and our entire newsletter, for that matter) to friends and family who could benefit from the group ATM classes and workshops that we offer at the FLC.
Happy Halloween!

FACULTY SIGHTINGS
| Here's what some of our faculty have been up to in addition to the classes and workshops they are offering at the Center.
Marcy Lindheimer November 8th through the 15th, Marcy can be found in Chicago, teaching special needs children from all over the Midwest. The first two weeks of December, she'll be in California at the ABM Center in San Rafael, co-teaching the 4th segment of the basic training program for future ABM practitioners. She is also the director of the ABM teacher training program and will give a one-day mastery class for those participating in that program.
When not traveling, Marcy is working with special needs children in her studio on the Upper West Side in New York City. Many of the children are local, but a large percentage of them travel from all over the United States, as well as Mexico, Canada, South Africa, Colombia and all over Europe to study with her.
Barbara Forbes Barbara is teaching a new class at Sarah Lawrence College this year, "Feldenkrais Improvisation," while continuing to teach her regular ATM class there. In November, Barbara will join other graduates of Russell Delman's "Embodied Life Mentorship Program" for a graduate retreat. She looks forward to offering more "Embodied Living" workshops at the Learning Center and elsewhere over the coming year.
Scott Fraser Scott is co-presenting with Frederick Schjang a five-week "Introduction to the Feldenkrais Method" seminar in October and November at Reebok Sports Club/NY. This series of group lessons is geared toward enhancing athletic performance for people of all ages and abilities.
Sharon Oliensis Sharon is teaching Healing Movement in the New School Creative Arts Therapies program again this fall. This class explores the Feldenkrais Method, Tai Chi and Middleastern dance to discover the complementary benefits and principles behind these three approaches to movement. The class meets Friday afternoons and is open the general public.
