JAZZ UP YOUR ROUTINE THIS FALL AT
THE FELDENKRAIS LEARNING
CENTER!
As we create our routines anew in the crisp, colorful New York
autumn, many of us look to create more balance in our lives. We search
for a healthy balance of work and leisure, family and friends -- not to
mention our checkbook after summer vacations!
This fall, in
addition to our weekly group classes, we are offering four workshops designed to bring more harmony into your
life. Whether through improved breathing and balance, having less
chronic pain or cultivating awareness of yourself and the world around
you, our classes and workshops at the Feldenkrais Learning Center will guide you to a healthy fall season.
Our Featured Article is a
fun piece from the Huffington Post, entitled Feldenkrais: Everything You 'Know' About Healing May Be Dead
Wrong. It relates writer Michael Sigman's introduction to the
method and captures the initial wonderment many of us experienced taking
our first Awareness Through Movement class.
Last, but not least, we are pleased to welcome three new
teachers at the FLC this fall.
Marilyn Bakun, Rebecca Davis and Dan Rindler join
our roster of
Guild Certified Feldenkrais Practitionerscm offering group classes and Sunday workshops.
We look forward to
welcoming you back as well this fall!

FACULTY SIGHTINGS
|
Here's what some of our faculty have been up to in addition to the classes and workshops they are offering at the Center.
Marcy
Lindheimer In early September in Chicago, Marcy will be
working with children with special needs from all over the Midwest. At
the end of September, she'll travel to California to join Anat Baniel in
teaching a 9-day mastery course on vitality and anti-aging. At the end
of October, Marcy will return to California to co-teach the 8th segment
of the ABM Basic Training in San Rafael.
Marilyn Bakun Marilyn
can be seen most Tuesday mornings this summer at the Feldenkrais Class on the High Line Park, part of the Shape-Up NYC program. www.thehighline.org/events/all/2010/8
Rebecca Davis Rebecca
was recently selected as a 2010 Movement Research
Artist-in-Residence. She will premiere her evening-length choreography,
what I'm saying is born from the
weather, November 11-13, 2010 at Judson
Memorial Church. For more information, please visit: www.rdavisprojects.com
Barbara Forbes Barbara
continues to study with Russell Delman (in New York this November) and
at the Focusing Institute. This year, she will again be bringing Awareness Through Movement classes to
students and faculty at Sarah Lawrence College.
Scott Fraser Scott has been consulting with a major
building project
management company, giving feedback from a Feldenkrais perspective on workstation designs.
Dan Rindler Dan
will teach ongoing workshops in Child'Space Method® for new
parents and infants this September at the Prenatal Yoga Center, Symphony
Space and Shambala Yoga in Brooklyn. He will also begin teaching a
very playful Feldenkrais ATM class for
grade school children at the Spence School.
Kathy Yates Kathy will be introducing the Feldenkrais Method at "Celebrating Life and Liberty," an event hosted by Hackensack Medical Center's John Theurer Cancer Center on September 26th in Liberty State Park. More than 1,000 participants are expected, so classes will be running throughout the day. This is a wonderful opportunity to spread the word about this truly life-enhancing work.
