"Xtenaba"
This week's artist in the spotlight is Xtenaba!
X10 or Xtenaba (Aba is the African nickname for girls born on
Thursdays in Africa) is a twenty-one year old female MC originally from
Liberia. She came back and forth to the states until taking permanent
residency in Minneapolis, MN in 2003. As a writer of her own music, she
also lends a hand to local artists by making track beats.
Some of her influences are her Mom, KoRed (cousin also in the music
business), Andre 3000, Ludacris & Young Jeezy. When asked to
describe her sound, X10 says "I am from the Westside...of Liberia that
is, so my music is a little bit of both American and African influence.
It's laid back but you can dance to it, bounce to it, pretty much
'everything' to it". Local talent shows, fundraisers and even opening
for a Slum Village concert in the past, are all places you can see her
doing what she loves most.
"Aba's" other hobbies are playing soccer, b-ball, tennis, track
& field, and basically anything that keeps her on the go! X10 is
also part of the dance crew "BUC (Blazin Up Clique)", formed with past
high school classmates. Some of her upcoming projects are a mix tape, a
high school tour in the Twin Cities with other local acts, and an album
she plans to release on her birthday March 13th, 2009.
You can catch X10 performing her Hot new single "So Off The Chain"
at Club Axis during Vibin Exposed Open Mic on Mondays, where she
recently won the web spot on October 27th. The last thing X10 wants us
to know about her music is that she does it for everyone, "My rhymes

NATIONAL RECORDING ARTIST MC BREED PASSED AWAY SATURDAY AT THE AGE OF 36.

Rapper MC Breed -- who once worked with Tupac -- was found dead at a friend's house in Michigan this past Saturday. Breed -- who was hospitalized in September when his kidneys collapsed
-- died in his sleep. The cause of death has yet to be determined.
He was 36.

classic radio show
"Rush it of Flush it" as a segment to the "Tight at
Night show" featuring BL Holla that airs every night beginning at 7pm.
This on-air classic will allow local artists to showcase their music
and be critiqued by thousands of listeners who will call in and decide
whether their music should be "Rushed" or "Flushed". Not only will this
show open doors for local artists to finally be heard on the airwaves,
it will also give them a chance to get honest opinions that possibly
can help better their careers in the future.
