"It looks like a good week for the resurging Visage nightclub, which is tucked between stadium construction and Interstate 394 in downtown Minneapolis. First up is something a little bit different for hip-hop fans: a performance Saturday by the man called "Mozart gone hip-hop," pianist David Sides. Get this: He reinterprets rap and R&B hits on his piano. Check out his renditions of songs by Kanye West, Akon, T-Pain and more at www.myspace.com/davidsides, which also links to his YouTube page. Well, if you haven't heard of this event then you've been living under a rock (or just lacking a myspace page).
High Society Ink presents
The 2nd Annual TC Hip Hop Awards, where local artists are up for awards such as the "Album of the Year",
"Mpls Mayor", and "Best Hustler". Even though some of the nominations are in question according to some critics, the energy and response should prove this to be a much anticipated event.
With that said, if you do have a myspace page and have the benefit of being flooded with hundreds of "VOTE FOR ME" bulletins and messages, take some time out, listen to a song or two, and vote. They need your support.
