Go Against the Crowd this Spring

Nov. 11th

Applications for Alternative Spring Break are due really soon, and if you're considering going, I would strongly recommend getting your booty in gear and getting those applications in. It is so worth it.

Applications are due in the VIA office (3rd floor of the Davis Center) by Wednesday November 11th!! Get going! And check the website. Applications can be found there, as well as more information about alternative breaks. If there's any question or consideration in your mind, you should do it. It WILL be a good time.


One Step Forward

Nov. 16th

If yFootprintou feel strongly about the topics of racism, sexism, religious discrimination, or other socially constructed oppressions, you should consider joining Next Step 2010- A retreat held from January 22-24th.

Mouth-Watering Volunteer Work

Nov. 20th

UVM Campus Kitchens Project wants to steal your favorite recipes! We're making a compilation of recipes for a holiday Recipe Bookcampus-wide cookbook that we will sell around the holidays.
All proceeds from the cookbook sales will go to Chittenden Emergency Food Shelf.

Nakedness

If that didn't catch your attention, I don't know what would.
The Naked Bike Ride '09 is looking for volunteers! If not enough people help out at these events, the bike ride will be ended...they're aiming for 150 volunteers.

Free pizza, a t-shirt from the event, and just the experience alone. Sign up under UVM Clubs

Look forward to exams week just to see some naked bodies.

Orient Others

Do you want to have an amazing summer job working with incoming students and peers? Most people I know would say yes to that...which I think is why they have an application process...which I would recommend doing.Compass- Orienting
Apply to be an Orientation Leader, and make some other incoming freshman's experience a great one for them as well. Continue the pattern.

That is a long title. Must be pretty legitEcuador. It's a service learning project for anyone interested in studying in Ecuador to help heal lands that were polluted by the oil industry.

Wednesday, November 11th from 9am-11am join us for a celebration in honor of our Veterans. In the Waterman Memorial Lounge, respect and honor those who have served our country. Veterans will speak, as well as their children, and Student Government will speak. There will also be a brief flag ceremony.

Dial for dollars with COTS! Every year COTS puts on an annual phonathon, each night running from 5:30-9 PM. Each night there's an orientation, a dinner, and snacks and prize drawings through the night! You can be a runner, work in the mail room, help with snacks and prizes and much more.

Burlington Bonding with Bean Bags

Making a Bean BagThe Burlington Children's Space is looking for UVM students to come and mentor any Tuesday between 3:30 and 5:00 PM. You can come and play music, create crafts with the kids (like sewing bean bags or creating jewelry) or just come and interact with the kids at the day care for a little time out of your day. Contact Charles for your mentoring opportunity to go with Hillel as soon as you want! You do not have to be a member of Hillel to attend.
