Dear Cycling Friends,

The US Marine Corps is always looking for a few good men...and we've found them! You might not recognize them from the jazzed up holiday photo below, but here are a few members of our local Ommegang cycling team.

Not only do these guys love to ride their bikes, they also love to help others. Whether it's showing up enmasse at the head of our Breast Cancer Ride, or helping with the first running of our Point to Pint Ride to Ommegang Brewery to benefit the Two Smiles, One Hope Foundation, the Ommegang guys never let us down.

And now for the fourth year in a row, they are cohosting our Annual Toys for Tots fundraiser this THURSDAY 12/15 from 6-9pm, also known as Bikes and Brews Night for the Ommegang beer we serve and well, because you're surrounded by bikes! What could be a better combination?

All we ask is that you bring a new, unwrapped toy for the US Marines to deliver to a less fortunate child right here in our own community. Come enjoy the camaraderie of your fellow cyclists, live music featuring William Nicholson, Ommegang, great food, and chance to beat the All-Star Syracuse Bicycle Foosball Team! RSVP please!

 Happy riding this holiday season,

Paul & Trish

CranX Indoor and Outdoor
Bike and Sports Park

Ride. Inside or Out!

Cranx Indoor Sports Park

Finally, a place right in our own backyard to ride ALL YEAR LONG! We're excited to announce that CranX Indoor and Outdoor Bike and Sports Park is under construction and will open shortly at 6341 Thompson Road in DeWitt, across from the Verizon building near Carrier Circle, in and around a 90,000-square-foot former warehouse.

View photos and subscribe to their email list for updates and progress reports at www.CranX.com. CranX is going to be one of only 3 Indoor Parks of this magnitude in the entire country, and the outdoor park will be the largest of the three. Experienced mountain bikers and BMX riders will think they've died and gone to biker heaven, but anyone of any age who can ride a bike will have a blast at CranX with trails and features for all ages and level of experience.

Here's what's planned for the inside of CranX, from partners Seth Fischer and Dale Cruce: The indoor bike park will cater to mountain bikers and BMX bike enthusiasts as well as those who are into road biking. Features for the indoor-outdoor bike park include a halfpipe, a foam pit, a running-and-walking track, freeride trails, berm trails, jump trails, a road track and a street track. The facility is designed to appeal to beginner, intermediate and expert riders, said Fischer.

The indoor area will lead out to the three-acre outdoor park. There will also be a fitness room with trainers, spin classes, an indoor golf range, a party room, lounge, retail center and rentals area.

Season membership, day passes, combination packs and fitness memberships will be offered and can already be purchased at www.cranx.com.  This would make a great holiday gift!
