Dear Cycling Friends,
Many Central New Yorkers have fled the area in search of warmer weather this week. I wish I was one of them. If you haven't already left this cold and distant outpost otherwise knows as Syracuse, you might want to stop in and check out our selection of Thule Cargo Boxes. They are on sale this week and can make or break that long car trip!
It may seems like spring will never arrive, but August will be here before you know it. And that can only mean one thing for Oneida Shores County Park - being overrun by over 900 female triathletes participating in Iron Girl Syracuse! As the official multisport retailer for this event, we're hosting a special IronGirl Kickoff event on Thursday, May 5th, from 6-9pm See below for more information.
It's baaaccckkk...the Tuesday Night Training Series returns next month for its third season. This is your chance to get your Lance on and see if you have what it takes against some of Central New York's best road cyclists. It's good, fun competition combined with a chance to test your bike handling skills in the pack. That is, unless you get dropped....scroll down for more information.
And speaking of competition, it's a nail biter these days trying to sign up for local triathlons. Many have long since closed for registration , but you still have a terrific opportunity June 25-26th at Tri Oswego! The newest triathlon to this area promises a full weekend of sprint, intermediate, kids/family racing fun on the beautiful shores of Lake Ontario and the rolling Oswego county countryside. All details below.
Longtime Syracuse Bicycle customer and SU student Lauren Rosenstein is trying her hand at race directing with the 2nd annual May Day 5k on May 1st. This run benefits Habitat for Humanity and OrangeAID (AIDS awareness), so we're encouraging you to get out there and enjoy a beautiful run through the SU campus. Last year, Lauren had 100 participants and she'd like to double that number this year!
Until next week....
Happy Riding,
