| Giro Shoes Now In Stock! | |
Helmet and Eyewear Pros Launch Road Shoes!

The Prolight SLX is Giro's flagship, ultralight road shoe. Claimed weight on a size 42 is just over 200 grams, and the retail price is $350. Pro cyclist Levi Leiphiemer already made these shoes famous by wearing them in last year's Tour de France. They feature titanium hardware and uppers made from very light, thin (1.1mm), and supple microfiber. The sole is Giro's top of the line, 60-gram Easton EC90 SLX with high-modulus carbon. The SuperNatural Fit Kit footbed system is included.

For $200, you can get all the fit technology of the top-end shoes (minus the SuperNatural Fit kit) in Giro's Trans shoe. Slightly heavier materials keep the cost down but the shoes are based on the same architecture and patterns as the lighter, most costly models. Even so, the Trans claims a weight of just 270 grams, which for anyone counting, is about 60 grams less than many premium Italian shoes that cost twice as much. The sole is a carbon/glass fiber blend.

For women, there's the sweet-looking Espada, built on a female-specific foot form. It's a $200 shoe that mimics the Trans in terms of materials. |

Coming Soon! Mountain Bike Group Rides
Get Off Road with Syracuse Bicycle!
Many of you know us as a great shop for road cyclists and triathletes. What you may not know is that most of us here at the shop are also avid mountain bikers and we carry a full line of "fat tire" bikes from Scott, Gary Fisher, and Trek.
Mountain biking can be somewhat intimidating to a first timer. Maybe you're not sure where to ride or if you even have the skills to handle off road terrain. That's where we'd like to help!
Coming this June, we are offerring organized group mountain bike rides on Thursday nights and Saturday mornings, specific dates/times as yet to be determined. The rides are no-drop; meaning we'll all stay together as a group and the focus is on skill development.
Why mountain bike? Here's your chance to get outside in nature and enjoy some spectacular scenery. It's a relief not to have to worry about dodging cars. And you'll see a big improvement in your bike handling skills after a few weeks of picking your way up and down twisty single track. Most of all, you'll get to spend time with a great bunch of riders!
Look for our Information Session sometime in May! In the meantime, take a look at some of the sweet rides currently on our showroom floor...
Scott Scale 29er Elite
This big-wheeled bike is light and agile so you'll blast off the starting line and zip up the climbs. Plus, you'll keep your advantage when the trail levels off and points down, too, thanks to the fine all-around handling of this 29-inch wheeled cross-country champ.
Trek Rumblefish (Gary Fisher Collection)
Big wheels with big travel equals big fun. Welcome to Trek's Rumblefish I. It's got 120/110mm of travel, making this a fully capable trail bike with all the monster-truck benefits of big wheels. But the real deal comes in the form of a tight wheelbase along with a well-proven G2 29er geometry. Fox steps it up, too, with a custom fork to make steering and overall handling neutral while still being snappy, quick and playful.
Trek Fuel EX 8

Trek's Fuel EX 8 is primed for backcountry rides, hard-charging action and fun spins after work. This cool ride boasts Trek's Full Floater suspension technology with 120mm of ultra-smooth, tunable front/rear travel thanks to Fox. The rear shock was co-developed with Trek and has 2 chambers: a small one for bumps at low speed and a larger one for big hits, making your Fuel pedal incredibly well AND giving you that bottomless feel at speed.
Scott Spark 40 Scott's Spark 40 will light a fire in you to shred as much trail as humanly possible. It boasts a lightweight Scott aluminum frame with 110mm of smooth travel to keep your tires glued to the trail on techy uphills and challenging downhills alike.
