Dear Cycling Friends,
Maverick: "I feel the need..."
Goose: "...the need for speed!"
We can't sell you the experience of flying at Mach 2 in a F14 Tomcat jet, but we can give you the opportunity to buy yourself some speed on the bike for your upcoming cycling or triathlon season!
Learn all about Cervelo Bicycles, Zipp Wheels, and Cyclops PowerTap power meters at the Syracuse Bicycle Cycling Performance Night on Thursday, March 10th, 6:30-9:30pm.
We've assembled a "dream team" of representatives from the powerhouse brands of Cervelo, Zipp and PowerTap who are known for helping athletes of all levels go faster. For one night only, in one place you'll be able to get all your questions answered about the technology behind triathlon bicycles, race wheels and power meters. USA Triathlon Level II Coach Doug Bush of Endurance Factor coaching will also be on hand to answer all your questions about how to train with a power meter.
And that's not all! We'll have the usual assortment of great food, free drinks and fabulous door prizes. Be one of the first 25 guests through the door and receive a Syracuse Bicycle pint glass!
Happy Riding,
Paul, Dan & Trish Syracuse Bicycle315-446-6816

Lifetime resident of Syracuse, NY, John Tooley is married with four children and four grandchildren, and a fifth on the way. He is an engineer with a MBA from Syracuse University who spent most of his career in the power plant business and recently retired from NRG Energy a wholesale power producer. That pretty much sums up Act I. In his own words, Act II is still "a work in progress."
"As long as I stay healthy and the stock market doesn't tank, it will involve 1) a focus on experiences vs. things and 2) finding ways to incorporate my interests--Energy Independence and Innovation, the health and welfare of family and friends, and long distance cycling--into productive endeavors.
And that's where this ride comes in. John Tooley will begin The RIght Coast Ride to Support Juvenile Diabetes in Key West, FL this month and end up back home in Syracuse , NY some months later.
And he's doing it all to raise awareness and funds for Juvenile Diabetes research and treatment. It's a cause near and dear to his heart, as his granddaughter suffers from juvenile diabetes. We are proud to support his ride and wish him luck as he sets out on this adventurous ride!
You can follow his progress on his blog. His first entry is below. Please donate to his cause!
Look Out Lance, He re I Come!
Firming up the final details for my ride from Key West, Florida back home to Syracuse. Looks like I will begin about March 22. From a conditioning perspective, the timing couldn't be worse. It's tough to stay in good cycling condition this time of year in Syracuse. My plan is to go slow in Florida with a few stops to visit friends. Hopefully some conditioning will kick in by Georgia. You'll have to stay tuned to find out. My other hope is that I'll look a little less like this guy and a little more like Lance by the time I get home. Time will tell.
