Dear Cycling Friends,
On this last day of 2010, we thought we'd take a month by month look back at our year at Syracuse Bicycle. We hope you enjoy our walk down memory lane. We've had an amazing year thanks to the efforts of our wonderful staff and especially thanks to you, our customers! We look forward to making even better memories with you in 2011!
January - We kicked off the New Year with our popular Indoor Cycling classes where our customers enjoyed the camaraderie of fellow cyclists as they got to work laying an endurance base for the spring riding season! Check our our Facebook Page for the most up-to-date information about our classes beginning January 3, 2011. And while you're checking out our Facebook page, "like" us! That way you'll be sure to get all the most up-to-date news from Syracuse Bicycle!

February - Club Appreciation and Cervelo Night. Here's OCC Club President Wayne Miner showing the love for CNY Triathlon Club President Sam Sampere!

March - As spring approached, Store Manager Dan Button did an amazing job of remerchandising the store and bringing in new brands such as Patagonia and Pearl Izumi. With a brand new interior paint job, Syraucse Bicycle has never looked better!

April - We kicked off our new 70.3 Triathlon Training Program in partnership with Endurance Factor Coaching. This group of twenty spent many hours training and, more importantly, laughing together on their journey to complete their first half-ironman race in September!

May - Syracuse Bicycle headed down to Armory Square for the 1st Annual Cycle in the City. A great event to promote safer cycling routes in Syracuse.

June brought the "wrapping" of our store van. We think it looks great! This van saw a lot of action this summer providing sag wagon support at just about every local triathlon and road race in Central New York!

July - We know how to have fun at work! July means our annual Tour de France Celebration...with our own podium girls serving crepes, of course!

July, August, and September were very busy months for us. Just about every weekend, we loaded up our van with our store tent and lots of race related goodies and headed to Owascoman, IronGirl, Cazenovia, and Skinnyman Triathlons!

In early September we brought a unique event to Central New York - the Cervelo eRide. Almost one hundred local cyclists turned out to test ride one of Cervelo's spectacular, top-of-the-line road and triathlon bikes. It was one of the biggest events Cervelo has ever seen!

September was a crazy busy month for Syracuse Bicycle, particularly when the Ironman 70.3 Triathlon hit town. As the official multisport retailer for this event, we provided mechanical support at bike check-in and on the race course for over 2000 participating athletes! Here's our set up at Jamesville Beach, right in bike transition.

And here we are at 430am on race day...YES, 430am!! There's always the chance of something going wrong with your bike on race day, and what a relief to have a Syracuse Bicycle service technician right there in transition to help you out!

With the 70.3 behind us, we headed to Vegas for Interbike, the annual bicycle retailer trade show. It was a huge year for us there, having just been named a Top 100 Retailer for 2010!! Here's Paul and Trish with cycling legend Eddie Merckx at the award reception.

October brought our annual Breast Cancer Awareness Ride. We were quite honestly overwhelmed with the amazing level of support we received at this event. Over 280 riders were in attendance, raising over $8000 for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and making our ride the LARGEST RIDE IN THE COUNTRY!

Earlier in the year, we launched our Women on Wheels cycling program for beginner women. Throughout the summer we had over 80 women participate and gain confidence riding on the beautiful roads of Central New York. In November, we hosted our ladies at our annual Girls With Gears night. It was a great opportunity for local women cyclists to share stories about the past riding season and make plans for next summer! Oh, and do a little bit of shopping as well!
