Product Feature
Triathlon Wetsuits
Rentals Suits Available This Season!
Syracuse Bicycle now carries triathlon wetsuits from both Blue Seventy and 2XU! The suits will be arriving in store between Monday and the end of the month. Each member of our sales staff is specially trained in wetsuit fitting so they can help you choose the best suit for you. Here a few answers to the most common questions we hear from interested triathletes:
Will a triathlon wetsuit make me faster?
Yes, definitely. A triathlon wetsuit is specifically designed to provide sufficient floation around your hips so your body is "floated" into an optimal swimming position and drag is reduced. Wetsuit material also is much slicker than your skin, which also reduces drag.
How do I know if it fits?
All of our sales staff are specially trained in helping you find just the right wetsuit for you. We first go by the manufacturers' height and weight guidelines, then assist you in putting on the suit correctly. Lastly, we'll check the fit at the shoulders, waist, hips and leg area to be sure you have found your perfect suit!
Is one brand better than another?
The top end of one brand of wetsuit is more alike than different from another brand's top end suit. At each price level, the suits are relatively equal to its competitor. Most wetsuit manufacturers use the same type of neoprene across a particular price level. The higher the price, the more flexible and slick the fabric.
So if the brands are essentially the same, how am I supposed to choose?
Different brands feature slightly different fit and designs, and they can feel different. What feels and fits perfectly on you, may not feel great on your best friend. Your best bet is to try on a few different suits and find the one the fits you properly and feels the most comfortable on you!
I'm still not sure I'm ready to invest in a triathlon wetsuit. Do I have other options?
Yes, you do! Syracuse Bicycle is the only dealer in Central New York to offer rental wetsuits. Just ask our sales staff about this exciting option we are able to offer our customers this year. |
