Dear JA Supporters,
Trent Klingensmith

Ron Samuels, Chairman, President, and CEO of Avenue Bank, is a great leader in our city. With 35 years of business expertise, he opened Avenue Bank three years ago and has created a welcoming, successful place to work and to do business. He is also involved in more than 15 community organizations, setting a standard of excellence in civic leadership. Ron loves life; he is an avid golfer, talented musician, and was involved in bringing professional sports to our city.

On October 25th, Ron will be inducted into the Nashville Business Hall of Fame. JA hosts this event each year to recognize outstanding individuals, thanking them for their leadership, civic involvement, and business excellence. We are honored that Ron will now be a part of this sterling group.

Speakers Keel Hunt, Ralph Schulz, and Cooper Samuels will be on hand to help us honor Ron and share about his influence. Lanna Jackson, a 6th grader at Harpeth Hall School, will serve as our emcee for the evening, helping us to remember why honoring business leaders is so important: our students need great role models. Ron is definitely one of those. As a special appearance, The Hummingbirds, the Avenue Bank band featuring Ron Samuels, will perform for our guests.

More than 400 people will be present to welcome Ron into the Nashville Business Hall of Fame and I hope that you will join us as well. Tickets can be purchased online or by contacting Laura Buchanan at 615.627.1183.

 Sincerely,

Trent Klingensmith

J.T. Moore finally gets JA BizTown visit

J.T. Moore Middle School visits JA BizTown every year. However, last year's 5th grade class had their visit thwarted when Nashville flooded and Metro Nashville schools were closed the week of J.T. Moore's scheduled visit. The classes had completed most of the preparations but, because of scheduling conflicts, were not able to make it to JA BizTown before the end of the 2009-2010 school year.

The school's principal and teachers wanted their students to have the opportunity to complete the experience, so the 6th grade teachers worked hard to make it possible for the school to finally visit JA BizTown on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 of this school year.
