Inside the President's Corner with Trent Klingensmith
Dear JA Supporters,
Sometimes hearing from JA students can remind us what our programs are all about. I would like to thank Owen Reid for sharing his experiences with us (below). I would also like to thank all of you, our JA partners, for your support in helping us reach thousands of students each year with valuable JA programming.
Warm Regards, Trent Klingensmith
Owen Reid, 2nd Grader
I'm Owen Reid and I'm a JA student, and this is what I did
with JA in school, and what I liked about JA. In the beginning of the school
year JA came and taught us about the community. We learned that everyone has
jobs to do and if they don't do it correctly they won't earn enough money; and
if they keep doing the wrong thing, they will get fired. We also learned that
money travels through the community. For example, you get 10 dollars from work
and you want to buy something to eat. You give your money to the cashier and
when it is Saturday and work is over the cashier buys something and it goes on
and on. And we got to make paper donuts! I liked JA because they are really
nice and I really want to do it next year. |

Junior Achievement of Middle Tennessee seeks to inspire and prepare children to dream about their future, develop relevant skills, and pursue attainable goals.
|
|
|
Dear JA Partner,
Junior Achievement relies on community support to reach Middle Tennessee students. Whether through funding or volunteering, your efforts are what allow JA programs to be offered to children. Equiping our youth with financial literacy, economics, and workforce readiness education will give them the tools they need to succeed in life...and as a JA partner, you are a part of students' successes.
Thank you for being a part of Junior Achievement!

Who Volunteers?
JA volunteers come from all walks of life. But they all
have a common vision: sharing a message of hope and
opportunity with each and every young person they reach.
Through volunteer partnerships from organizations large and
small, or individuals interested in sharing their experiences
with the children of their community, JA's 2,200 classroom
volunteers inspire, prepare, and empower. They band together
to teach the importance of workforce readiness,
entrepreneurship, and financial literacy. JA volunteers
believe they can make a difference - and teach 45,000
Middle Tennessee students, each school year, that they can make a difference, too.
If you are already a JA volunteer, we thank you. It's your
effort and selfless dedication that truly makes a difference.
If you haven't yet had the opportunity, contact the Programs Department today.
The impact will last a lifetime.

I believe many citizens have one major question. How do I spend my money? Should I adopt a pet or buy M&Ms? Here are some simple solutions to prevent shopping headaches. First choose your favorite items. Then find the ones you would use the most. Hopefully this will narrow the number of your items you really want, so you can afford all of them. I am very glad if this advice has helped you with your shopping.
