June 4: Single-Stream Recycling and Twice per Week Garbage Begin!

Exciting news! 95-gallon, all-in-one recycling roll carts will be delivered to residents from Breach Inlet to 30th Avenue the week of June 4th. All recyclables can be placed in these carts without sorting. Smaller bins may be kept or placed on the curb on June 13 for collection.  Click here for more information or call 843-720-7111.

Twice per week garbage collection also begins the week of June 4.
City Council Approved Fiscal Year 2013 Budget
At its May 22 regular meeting, City Council approved second reading and ratification of the fiscal year 2013 budget, which is balanced and includes no tax increase.  Click here to see the budget on the City's website.

Get the answers to these questions and more at the joint, Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island Disaster Preparedness Expo from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13 at the IOP Public Safety Building at 30 J.C. Long Boulevard. Hot dogs and drinks will be free.  An inflatable slide, coloring, and facepainting will be available for children.  Even residents who have experienced a disaster event will learn and benefit from the event.  Click here for a photo gallery of the 2010 expo.

"Stewards of Children" is a prevention training program that teaches adults how to prevent, recognize, and react responsibly to child sexual abuse.  Register at no charge by emailing the IOP Exchange Club.  Breakfast and registration begin at 8:30 a.m.  The workshop runs from 9:00-11:30 a.m on Saturday, June 9 at the Isle of Palms Exchange Club
