In an emergency, police and fire need to be able to find you.  Do you know the closest beach access path?  Do guests or rentors at your property know the street address? Is the house clearly marked on the outside and inside? Emergencies are stressful. Know where you are and mark your house to get help as fast as possible!

Registration is open for the Lowcountry's favorite beach run. Choose between a 5k and a 10k for this year's run/walk. Racing begins at 8:00 AM on Saturday, July 28.
 

 Vote Daily for Isle of Palms as Best Restored Beach: Now through April 27

The Isle of Palms beach won a national "Best Restored Beach 2011" award from the American Beach and Shore Preservation Association, and now the City is up for a Best of the Best Award.  The beach with the most votes on April 27 will win. Click here to vote once per day Ask your friends and family to help with a show of solidarity for IOP!  
Budget Workshop at 5:45 PM on
Tuesday, April 17



The Ways and Means Committee meeting scheduled for 5:45 PM on Tuesday, April 17 includes a budget workshop at the end of the meeting.  The workshop subject is the first draft of the Fiscal Year 2013 budget. The public is welcome at what is expected to be an hours-long meeting.  Click here to view the agenda. Before the budget is ratified, it will recieve a public hearing and two readings at two City Council meetings.   

Hazardous Household Materials Recycling and Shred Day:
May 5 from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Household_Cleaners

Bring household hazardous waste - such as oil, electronic parts and paint - to the municipal parking lot on Pavilion Drive on Saturday, May 5 from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Click here for a complete list of acceptable materials, which will be either safely disposed of or recycled. Residents may also bring up to five boxes of sensitive or personal papers to be safely shredded.
