Time to Renew Dog Licenses
The City of Isle of Palms requires that all dogs living on the island have a city license.  Licenses are good for one calendar year and can be purchased for $2 at 1207 Palm Boulevard.  Please bring exact change and a copy of your pet's rabies vaccination.  Licenses can also be obtained at the popular Doggie Day at the Rec on Saturday, February 28.

Fire Safety Tip
Fire Department Sign
It is the season to enjoy a crackling fire in the fireplace.  Stay safe by making sure your fireplace has been cleaned and inspected at least once a year.  Tell the inspector to look at the chimney cap, which can become frayed or askew, particularly after a storm.

Marina Bulkhead ConstructionUpdate: IOP Construction Projects
The City of Isle of Palms is currently executing two major construction projects: the new public safety building on J.C. Long Boulevard and the replacement bulkhead at the Isle of Palms Marina.  The public safety building will house both police and fire personnel in a well-equipped facility that is designed to last for decades, and the new bulkhead will increase safety and functionality at the marina.  Both projects are progressing according to schedule.  The public safety building should be completed by summer of 2009, and the bulkhead should be completed by spring of 2009.  The City appreciates the patience of residents and visitors during these projects.
