Make a Valentine's Day card for the one you love at Cupid's Card Shoppe!  Come to the Recreation Center on Wednesday, February 11 from 4:00PM - 6:00PM to join the fun.  This free event is for those ages 12 and under.  Call the Rec at (843) 886-8294 for more information. 
 
Youth Athletics 
The Isle of Palms Recreation Department is offering baseball for youths of all ages.  Build skills and good sports conduct in an environment of friendly competition.  Registration for IOP residents begins January 20.  Open registration begins January 26.  Call (843) 886-8294 to register for Fast Start Baseball (Ages 3-4), T-Ball (Ages 5-6), Machine Pitch Baseball (Ages 7-8), Cal Ripkin Baseball (Ages 9-12) .
 
Lowcountry Blues Bash 
Lowcountry Blues Bash
The Isle of Palms is excited to be a part of the 19th Annual Lowcountry Blues Bash.  Musical performances will take place on Saturday, February 7th from 5:00-8:30PM and Sunday, February 8th from 2:00 - 5:30 PM.  Admission is $5 at the door, and children 12 and under are free. Mad HatterAuditions! Auditions! Auditions for Alice in Wonderland!
Yearn to be onstage?  Open auditions for the play based on Lewis Carroll's Alice in Wonderland will be held January 7th and 8th from 6:30-8:30PM at the Rec.  No experience or preparation is necessary.  Any youths or adults interested in acting are encouraged to audition!
 
Witness Lewis Carroll's wonderful, timeless story come to life on stage.  Performances, directed by Jimmy Ward, will be held February 19th, 20th and 21st at 7:00PM at the Recreation Center.  Admission is $5, children under 12 are free and doors open 30 minutes prior to the performance. 
 
Island Arcade DayIsland Arcade Day 
Remember Ms. Pac Man, Galaga, Burger Time and Donkey Kong?  Come play these classic, old-school arcade games at the Recreation Center on Saturday, January 24th from 12:00PM - 4:00PM. The charge to play is $5, but those who bring their bicycle to register with the Isle of Palms Police Department play all day for free!
 
The Return of an Award-Winning Favorite: Best in Show 2008Doggie Day at the Rec 
On Saturday, February 28th, bring your best friends of the four-legged variety to the Rec for Doggie Day!  Beginning at 9:00AM, vaccinations and dog licenses will be available.  Competitions start at 11:00AM, but contestants must pre-register by calling (843) 886-8294 by Friday, February 27th at 5:00PM.  Categories include Best Senior, Cutest Puppy, Most Beautiful Small and Large, Most Handsome Small and Large, Most Ear-resistible Ears, Best Eyes, Best Dressed, Best Rescue and Best in Show!  View photos of last year's event.

New Frisbee Golf Course 
The Isle of Palms Recreation Department is proud to present the new Frisbee Golf Course.  The course is set up around the Recreation Center facility at 24 Twenty-eighth Avenue.  Disc golfers should start at the mailbox by the bike rack and follow red flags.  Equipment can be checked out at the front desk.  The course is open from sunrise to sunset; however, the course may be unplayable occasionally due to Recreation-sponsored events.
 
Friday Night Hoops
Boys and girls ages 7-12 can spend a Friday night at the Rec shooting hoops.  Sessions will be from 6:00-8:00PM on January 9th, February 6th, March 6th and March 13th.  For a $10 fee, hoopsters will learned the skills needed to play basketball.  Call (843) 886-8294 for more information.
