Come draw your favorite holiday scene and your picture could be chosen as the official 2008 Recreation Department holiday card. The contest is open to artists age 12 and younger.

| Holiday Craft Workshop

Everyone is invited to decorate ornaments and make crafts at the Recreation Center's Holiday Craft Workshops. Crafters young and not-so-young are welcome. There is a $5.00 fee for materials, and participants must pre-register by calling "the Rec" at 886-8294 by Monday, November 10.

Santa needs cookies! Make sure that you are ready by coming to Santa's Cookie Workshop at the Recreation Center. All materials are provided for this free event, but participants must pre-register by calling "the Rec" at 886-8294 by Monday, December 8. Elementary participants must be accompanied by a guardian.

All the Island's ghosts and ghouls will be at the Recreation Center from 5:00-7:00 PM on Friday, October 31. Join them if you dare for costume contests for all ages, jump castles, inflatable slides, obstacle courses, face painting, balloon artists, Halloween candy, carnival games, prizes and more! Enjoy safe Halloween fun at no charge. |

Front Beach
A beloved annual tradition, the tree lighting ceremony will take place on December 4th from 6:00-8:00PM at Front Beach. Visit with Santa, enjoy live entertainment and celebrate the festive season. Dress warmly because the forecast calls for snow! |

Enjoy this holiday classic in a tour de force, solo performance by George Younts. Ebenezer Scrooge is taken on a nocturnal journey into the true spirit of Christmas in just 60 minutes. The show is free for all ages and doors will open at 1:30PM on December 6th at the Recreation Center. |
 IOP Light It Up Contest
December 18, 5:30 PM Proud of the holiday spirit on your street? Nominate your own home or your neighbors' for the annual Isle of Palms Light It Up Contest awarding the residential and commercial properties with the best holiday decorations. Enroll in Holiday Science Camp to have fun with science over the holidays. Campers will fuel their imaginations and curiosity by engaging in exciting experiments. Camp is open to ages 6-10 from 9:00AM-3:00PM on December 22nd and 23rd. Fees are $40 per day for residents and $45 per day for non-residents. Contact "the Rec" at 843-886-8294 to register. |
