Join us in Building on Faith
This summer, we have launched an Ecumenical Build campaign to finish the remaining two houses at the Hickory Ridge Subdivision near Clinton. Ecumenical Build is an opportunity for faith communities to come together to build simple, decent housing. We've raised more than $40,000 so far, but we still need additional funds and volunteers to get these houses going. Won't you join us in building on faith?
Get your congregation involved by contacting me at jennifer@hfhac.org or by calling 482-7713.

| State of the Nation's Housing 2009 Report |
Last month, the Joint Center for Housing Studies of Harvard University released its annual assessment of U.S. housing: State of the Nation's Housing. The report details, among other things, that despite recent falls in home prices there has been no broad improvement in housing affordability. Overall, the percentage of households paying more than half their income toward housing rose 13% to 16% between 2001 and 2007 and little improvement can be expected in that regard even if the economy should pick up. | Office Hours Change |

This will not impact the store's hours. The Habitat Home Store will continue to be open to the public Tuesday through Friday 9:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 9am to 2pm. |

During much of his career, he has worked as a supervisor or foreman. A graduate of the University of Memphis, David studied safety and risk management. He and his wife have three children, and their oldest is currently stationed in Turkey with the Air Force.

Special Thanks to Our Future Stars! |
|
This summer you may have recognized a few new, youthful faces at the construction site or in the Habitat Home Store. These young adults were working with us as part of the Future Stars at Work Program administered by the East Tennessee Human Resource Agency (ETHRA) in conjunction with the local Tennessee Career Center. We appreciate the work they've helped us to complete and would like to thank Alfred Allison, Demysha Bohanon, Vanity Bohanon, Elijah Graves, Patrick Harris, Jamica Johnson, Tiffany Mason, Lyndsey Mullins, Robert Phillips, and Leondra Pruitt. The program will wrap up this week, and we wish these stars continued success in their future endeavors! |
