Conscious Rider comes to the USA May 17 & 18
near Seattle!

Conscious Horse, Conscious Rider is coming to two locations in the US this summer--Whidbey Island outside of Seattle May 17 & 18 , and Boerne, TX outside of San Antonio June 21 & 22. This is the first time Gary has been in the Pacific Northwest in years and many introductory events are planned. These include an intro at the Noble Horse Gallery in downtown Seattle 4-6 pm May 15, an intro at East West Bookshop at 7 p.m. on May 15, and an intro May 14 sponsored by Banyen Books in Vancouver, BC, Canada. An evening workshop at the Whidbey Institute, also on Whidbey Island, is planned for Sunday, May 18 as well, independent of the weekend long workshop. This workshop combines many elements of horse workshops not usually combined. Riders of all levels--from total beginnners to advanced--can experience transformation of their comfort, skill, and communication with the horse they're riding. The full gamut of Access energetic body work processes as they apply to the horses in the workshop is also included. People participating get to practice these and take the skills away to use with other animals and people as well. Gary's level of skill at perceiving and communicating all of this is phenomenal to observe. The June Texas workshop will be at Annie and Chuck Ward's amazing horse ranch, where they breed Peruvian pasos horses in Boerne, Texas. Conscious Horse, Conscious Rider will make its Australian appearance November 22 & 23.

Have you made your reservations yet for Costa Rica in July? This event will go beyond Mission Beach (read about that elsewhere in this issue). It's titled the space of Never Mind.
Are you willing to step beyond your mind, which defines the limitations you know so well, into awareness and your knowing? Then you won't wish to miss this!
You can sign up on the website now! The changes we have been talking and writing about are real--you need to have taken a Levels 2 & 3 since January 2008 to be invited. You have three opportunities in North America to do so--Montreal May 9-12, Deerfield Beach Florida June 6-9, and Corte Madera, CA, July 4-7.
If you would like to get to know the amazing kids and teenagers of Access, this would be a great event for you to attend. Many more of them can come because it occurs during their school holidays.
For those of you who haven't noticed, they tend to get it much quicker than adults and come out with some brief, brilliant, and insightful one-liners that make consciousness even more fun. They'll turn into boring adults soon enough--you would miss them while they're hot for what reason?
The past two intensive 7 day events have sold out, in Mission Beach, Australia, last month and in Costa Rica last October.
There is also a 7 day intensive in Costa Rica planned for late October. The dates and venue are not finalized yet.

You may have noticed that creativity abounds in Access. The latest creation is a photo book by photographer Michael Berz.
Michael created many of the beautiful pictures that grace this newsletter, such as the photo of Nicolas Filson-Tuton that illustrates our PR for the X-men classes and CDs, including the article in this issue. He has also taken most of the bodywork photos you have seen in Access newsletters and postcards.
Michael created the slide show that is often playing in the upper right hand corner of the home page of accessconsciousness.com. It's also visible on youtube, where it has been viewed over 2000 times.
He has just released this in book form, and it's available from him at. info@livinginthequestion.com.

 Access goes to Nepal

Joanna Giles, who runs a charity providing support to orphanages including such benefits as surgery for cleft palates and support for survivors of sexual abuse in third world countries, is headed to Nepal with a group of Accessories and Access facilitators.
Facilitators Brenda St. Louis, Sue Silk, and Susan Lazar Hart are accompanying her, as well as Susan's daughter Kelsey.
What will happen? Who knows? They will be living in 10 second increments to discover what possibilities they can create there.
They will certainly be running bars on everyone they can. They know that one bars session of an hour can totally change someone's world. It's one of the most potent tools we have yet discovered. They would not share that for what reason?

Levels 2 & 3 and
Body Class Scheduled for Rome

The second Levels 2 & 3 in Europe this year will be offered in Rome, Italy, October 3-6, followed by a 3 day body class, October 9-11.
The oppportunity to do these classes when it is presented
in 2 languages, while occasionally frustrating, actually allows clearing on a deeper level. Gary has noticed for many years that clearings can occur deeper and faster on people who DO NOT speak the language of the clearing.
Gary and Dain's books are being translated into Italian and a book launch will accompany these events. What else is possible?

Access Bodywork Opportunities this Month
|
Greetings!
It's all about bodies this month--the hands on work that's included in almost every Access class.
You are invited to a couple of unique opportunities to learn these processes first hand as they apply to people and to animals.
Access has a different point of view about bodies and about healing. While most approaches to "enlightenment" (or whatever you wish to call them) emphasis "enlightening" the spirit while leaving the limitations of the body on the side of the road, Access Founder Gary Douglas asks a different question:
"If our bodies were really a limitation, why would we as infinite beings choose to come back again and again? There must be some greatness in embodiment!"
Discovering that greatness is what much of Access, including the hands on body processes that are included in many classes, is all about.
These hands on processes are fabulous, and we do not describe Access as a healing modality. Gary used to believe that if healing were possible, then people would choose consciousness. Over the years (18+) he has found the opposite is true, when people choose consciousness, healing is possible. Tools that increase consciousness (such as asking a simple question like, Who does this belong to?, can change pain instantly without even touching the body.
You can explore the hands on processes that facilitate healing in two ways this month:

What do horses have to do with embodiment and consciousness? What if consciousness did not require speaking English, and animals were actually more conscious than we are? The rate at which they are willing to receive healing of their bodies suggests that this is the case.
The hands on methods Gary will teach in this workshop also apply to healing human bodies. The Advanced 5 Day Body Class
If you haven't experienced Access body work--starting with the bars and including so much more--you can't know what you're missing! It's like explaining chocolate ice cream to a Martian who's never experienced it. If you're curious what peace in your body might feel like, you can find out by calling the facilitator nearest you, which can be found on the website.
If giving yourself and your body the gift of 5 days of gifting and receiving this magical stuff sounds like fun, then you might want to come to Corte Madera (San Francisco area) Saturday May 24 through Wednesday, May 28. (That's Memorial Day weekend in the US, Monday is a holiday.)
This is only the second time ever this 5 day class has been offered. It's the only time it's scheduled this year in the US. It will be coming to Australia in December for the first time!
Levels 2 & 3 are normally required in order to do this class. There is still time for you to do Levels 2 & 3 in Montreal next week with Dr. Dain Heer.
If your knowing tells you you should be there, and you have done the new (post-January 2008) Foundation and Level 1, we might be able to make an exception for you to attend since there hasn't been a 2 & 3 in the US since February. If this applies to you, specify this on your registration form on the website.

 Interviews and articles about Gary on the cover of local magazines
Voice of Choices, a magazine for Seattle and the US Pacific Northwest, features some familiar Access tools on the cover (can you find them?) as well as two articles inside.
One is about Gary and animals, based on his tour to the Northwest which culminates in Conscious Horse, Conscious Rider on Whidbey Island May 17 & 18. The second is an editorial in which the publisher describes her first encounter with the concepts of "How does it get even better than this?" and living in the question and the difference they have made in her life. Those of you new to access especially might find this interesting. Gary and Dain's article is on page 15. Kathy Lowden's article is on page 6. You can view or download the whole issue in .pdf form.
The second magazine, published in hard copy and on-line in the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, is called Edgelife. Three different articles about Access were published this month: an interview of Gary by editor Tim Miejan, an article about exceptional ("X-Men") kids by Gary and Dain, and an events listing about the X-Men class coming up in Minneapolis June 3 & 4. Access has a totally different point of view
on ADD, ADHD, OCD, autism and more
What if children who were labeled "disabled" were really exceptionally abled? What if their special talents and abilities were really a gift that could preserve the species? This is exactly what Gary Douglas has discovered is true by using that Access tool of asking questions and being open to any point of view.In Access, we often refer to these children as the "X-Men" after the movie about people with exceptional abilities saving the planet. Several very successful classes on this topic have been presented in Australia. Now we have one scheduled for June 3 & 4 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. These classes create tremendous changes and increased ease for the whole families of these amazing children, as well as for anyone else who's always been different and labelled as disabled, deficient, or bad. The dynamic accessories of Minneapolis will be having a booth at the Conscious Kids expo May 18 to inform people about this event. Jill McCormick, our resident expert at dealing with these kids and the bureaucracy of the school system as well, will be speaking at the expo.Thanks, Jill!  Levels 2 & 3 set for September 27-30 in Dublin!If Ireland has always been on your "to visit" list, what better opportunity than to combine it with an Access 2 & 3? One of two 2 & 3s planned for Europe this year has been booked for the Camden Court Hotel in central Dublin--Irish walking distance from St. Stephen's Green, Trinity College (Book of Kells), Temple Bar (traditional Irish music on every corner). And great accents and shopping everywhere! And oh yeah, you also get the benefit of all the clearings and discoveries about what the Irish and everyone else attending the party of consciousness can bring to let us all have more freedom in all aspects of our lives. Gary will also be doing an intro evening the night before, Friday, September 26, on How to Thrive During Economic Changes. Who do you know in Ireland who would like to meet him? I have been asking people who experienced the last Levels 2 & 3 in Australia for descriptions of what's so different about them. Most of them become insantly tongue-tied. The beautiful Kam Phagora from Perth, who is now working with Simone to expand Access, was brave enough to put it into words.

Access Tool: Who does this belong to?
|

This is a useful and potent tool in Access that works on body complaints as well as thoughts, feelings, emotions and any kind of upset or heaviness.
Early on in Access, Gary recognized that AT LEAST 98% of our thoughts feelings and emotions were not ours. How can you tell?
It's easy! Just ask the question, Who does this belong to? If it gets even a little bit lighter for a moment, whatever's going on IS NOT YOURS. If it's not yours, can you do anything about it?
Of course not! But how many people are taking drugs, doing therapy, and spending all kinds of time and energy and money on problems that aren't theirs in the first place?
You DO NOT need to have a answer to the question. Sometimes you might recognize it as belong to great aunt Gertrude. If not, don't worry about it. If it gets lighter when you ask the question, it's not yours. Does it matter who it belongs to? You don't have to have an answer. Questions are about creating awareness, not about having an answer. This works whether you have "the answer" of who it does belong to, or not.
Access Facilitator John Carter bumped into an old lady in a grocery store. She asked him to bend over and pick up a pack of detergent from the bottom shelf because her back hurt so much she couldn't do it. Fresh from his first Access class, John asked, "Who does that belong to?" She said, "My husband!" and bent over and picked it up herself!
A friend of mine in Ireland came to Costa Rica in October last year and felt great, happy and expansive and full of possibilities afterwards.
Then a month later she started to feel depressed and heavy like the benefits had "worn off." When I visited in January, I asked her, "Is that heaviness and depression yours, or did you pick up the depression of everyone around you about the holidays?" She instantly felt lighter and enthusiastic once again.
