TONS OF PICKS
Greetings!

Summer may be hot down here, but it is a great time for summer fresh vegetables. We have several tomato varieties. Tons of fabulous Swiss Chard. Green Beans that aren't always Green and actually the Red Chinese beans will change your mind about only green when it comes to long beans. Cucumbers, have you ever tried seedless? Nows your chance. Peppers of all varieties, sweet, hot, you name it. They are so fresh and don't have wax on them like the ones in the store. If only everyone realized some of the tricks stores use to make produce look better. You might as well chew on your childrens crayons! This newsletter is dedicated to the wonderful summer veggies that we are growing.

Don't forget you can grow them too! Hydro Harvest Farms is the leader in Hydroponic Gardening! We are here and available 24/7. We have everything you need to have a garden up and running in an hour. Hey, and only a couple of weeks until Dad's Day, how cool would a garden be for him? It's just what he always wanted!

As always we appreciate all of our customers. We have been here going on five years and if it wasn't for each and every one of you that come to the farm and make us your stop for fresh veggies and fruits, we wouldn't still be here.

Thanks For Picking Us!

TOMATOES ARE BEAUTIFUL!
Pick Fresh Beefsteak or Heirlooms
TOMATOES Come on down!

Tomato varieties are roughly divided into several categories, based mostly on shape and size. "Slicing" or "globe" tomatoes are the usual tomatoes on most tables. We have the unusual, Heirloom varieties and the  beefsteak . They are large tomatoes often used for sandwiches and just plain eating with a little salt and pepper.

Tomatoes are also commonly classified as determinate or indeterminate. Determinate, or bush, types bear a full crop all at once and top off at a specific height; they are often good choices for Hydroponic growing.

Indeterminate cultivars develop into vines that never top off . They are preferred by home growers who wish ripe fruit throughout the season. As an intermediate form, there are plants sometimes known as "vigorous determinate" or "semi-determinate"; these top off like determinates but produce a second crop after the initial crop. The majority of heirloom tomatoes we grow are indeterminate like our Moskvich Heirlooms, although some determinate heirlooms exist.

Fresh Florida tomatoes are low-calorie, low-sodium, a good source of vitamin A and an excellent source of vitamin C. Ripe, red Florida tomatoes add flavor, color and good nutrition to any dish. From soup to salad to sandwich to swordfish or simply sliced with salt and pepper, enjoy fresh and fabulous Florida tomatoes!

Pick up some of our basil, peppers and cucumbers to make a great Tomato Salad!

CUCUMBERS, SEEDLESS TOO!
Salad, Pickles or just with salt and pepper
cukesWe have several varieties of cucumbers
including the Tyria. This cucumber is seedless and so good! Long, Dutch greenhouse-type for indoor or outdoor production. Avg. 14", lightly ribbed, beautiful, dark green fruits. Delicious. All-female and parthenocarpic (fruits can set without pollination). Bitter-free, Organically grown seeds.
I love cucumbers and since eating this seedless variety, I am spoiled! Pick up some of our dill and basil and make a great cucumber salad!

GREEN, SWEET, AND HOT PEPPERS
Not your Mother's Peppers
GREEN PEPPERSFlorida sweet and hot peppers are in
the height of the season. Hydroponically grown peppers are absolutely the finest.
Sweet bell peppers will mature to various colors depending on the cultivar, however, most peppers are sold at an immature, green stage. As peppers mature, their sugar content increases. In the U.S. there is a trend toward appreciating more colored, or mature, peppers and we have plenty of them.

Wether you prefer Green, Yellow, Chocolate or Red ripe peppers that contain 50% more sugars and 10 times more vitamin A than green peppers, your choice will look colorful in any salad or dish. Pick up some of our fresh parsley and basil and make a great Pepper Dish !

HYDRO HARVEST FARMS NUTRIENT SPECIAL!

Nutrient Solution

The nutrient solution is the most important factor in the success or failure of a hydroponic system. Most fertilizers commonly available in garden centers do not contain all of the 13 elements necessary for plant growth because the growing media usually provides many of them. Hydroponic plants receive nutrients from a different source; so it is necessary to use a fertilizer formulated for hydroponic systems. It is important to follow the dilution rate recommended on the label.
