Hydro Harvest Farms AND THE WINNER IS???????
Greetings!

Epcot was such a wonderful way to show off our farm. So many people were really interested in growing thier own food. Remember, The Land has several Hydroponic Systems and they supply the fresh food for the World Showcase Restaurants. We had a drawing for a free Hydroponic System that we call the Green Thumb Garden. Many visitors from the Epcot visit signed up to receive our email and have a chance at winning this garden.
Well, Billie choose the lucky winner of our Green Thumb Hydroponic Garden. It is Carrie Kane of Tampa. Carrie when you read this email, please contact us. Thank you everyone for participating in our drawing. We have several of these throughout the year and everyone who is an active member of our email newsletter is eligible to win. Active basically means your email is active. Believe it or not we now have  over 3500 good folks following our email and supporting our farm. This is a great testament to just how many people are taking an active interest in what they eat, where it is grown, how it is grown and growing it themselves. Hydroponics make so much sense!

Sincerely and as we always say
THANKS FOR PICKING US!

FFA Of Brandon High School

"How cool is that?"

ffa presentation

We never realized what a wonderful organization the FFA is. This group of fine young women and men meet every expectation that is required of them. They are the future leaders, and will be successful in all they do. If you think "kids these days" visit the Brando High School FFA Chapter of kids. What a terrific group. John has had the pleasure of helping Mr. Alby and the students set up a hydroponic garden at the Hign School. The students have volunteered for helping us with events at the farm, and showcased our Hydroponics at the Plant City Strawberry Festival this year. It was so nice to be honored at your event, but the Brandon H.S. FFA are the true leaders of the future in farming and all they do!

RUSKIN RUNAROUND

Teams of people will scurry around South Shore on May 30, heading to 20 or so businesses for a chance to win prizes.

The mad dash is part of the annual Ruskin Chamber of Commerce's Ruskin Runaround.

Much like a scavenger hunt, the event technically begins May 29 at the Runaround Pep Rally at 6:30 p.m. at Pirate's Point Resort, 1800 Kofresi Court in Ruskin. That's where teams receive the Runaround rules, their first stop in the race and dinner.   On Runaround Day, Hydro Harvest Farms will prepare roasted corn, burgers and two sides that Ruskin Honorary Mayor John Smith will serve.

Sign up and join us for this Annual Scavenger Hunt. Contact Melanie at the Chamber  (813) 645-3808

KIDS AND GARDENS
It is a well known fact that children that participate in the planting, growth, harvesting and even the preparation of food, make healthier food choices. These choices remain throughout thier lifetime. I think that is why so many parents love to bring the kids to the farm. They remember when thier grandmom or Grand pop grew veggies. I don't know of anything more important than good nutrition for a growing child. Just think of how many lessons can be learned by teaching your children how to grow thier own food. What a great opportunity to spend valuable time that will remain in thier hearts forever. Here are a few websites dedicated to children gardening . Just keep in mind, Hydro Harvest Farms makes all of the information out there, so simple to do. Bring the kids and get started on a new, healthy adventure!

OR, KATHY CRAIN SENT US THIS
Hi,
My brother Emerson Parker had brought me over to your farm after I
enjoyed seeing how well his hydroponic garden was growing. I live on
the east coast of Florida, and bought this system from you. We planted
seeds on Easter day, so this is after 5 weeks. Thought you might enjoy
the photo.

Thanks,
Kathy Crain
