Divine Kitchens Celebrates 5th Anniversary by Announcing a Second Location in Wellesley!
Divine Kitchens Wellesley Linden St. ViewThis year, as we get ready to celebrate Thanksgiving, we have much to be thankful for.  2009 marks our 5th year in business.  This is an important milestone for us and for many startup companies.  Studies indicate that less than half of the companies launched make it to this milestone.    This has been a difficult year for many. Fortunately, we have fared better than most.  2009 is our best year ever, and we are projected to grow revenue by about 17% over last year's.   A couple of weeks ago, we were received two awards: a silver and gold by NARI (see below) and a Shrewsbury project was featured in KBDN.  We would like to take credit for this, but the truth of the matter is that we are only successful because you, our very loyal customers, who believed in us, how we work, and entrusted us with your home.

We would like to take this opportunity to announce that we will be expanding our operations by opening a new location at Linden Square in Wellesley in the spring of 2010.   We will keep this link updated with all the happenings in Wellesley:  divinekitchens.com/wellesley

Thank you all again, and have a wonderful Thanksgiving.

Divine Wins NARI Gold & Silver
with Sutton Kitchen & Master Bath
One home with two rooms that won at the Contractor of the Year Awards!

NARI Master Bath Divine Kitchens won a Gold for kitchen design in the 2009 National Association of Remodeling Industries (NARI) Contractor of the Year (COTY) awards this month. The firm also won Silver for the master bath in the same home. Both projects were part of a two-story addition in Sutton, MA.

The master bath is all about light: natural light, recessed light, chandeliers and pendants and fire glow. The dramatic soaking tub has been placed in front of the windows, giving a seamless view of the private gardens, while the private two-person walk-in shower offers an alternative for bathing. A double-sided fireplace, with brilliant tile surround, is seen both from inside the master bath and in the bedroom from the other side. A vaulted ceiling gives a gracious feeling to the space, and unique acrylic panels flanking the vanity mirrors bring the feeling of the outdoors inside, making these homeowners feel as if they could spend hours in this private room.

Below the master bath, the addition encompasses a bright, contemporary new kitchen, which was accomplished by flipping the location of the former kitchen and dining room in the home. The homeowners wanted to open the space, improve traffic flow and update everything from cabinets and appliances to lighting.

"Our interior designer Heidi Marika-Perez did an incredible job selecting finishes," says Mariette Barsoum, owner of Divine Kitchens and design director. "There is a very contemporary feeling to the space, but little touches like the pendants and chandelier in the master bath add some unexpected sparkle."

Divine actually created five spaces in this home. Others include a new contemporary guest bath and stone fireplace with mantle and custom entertainment center in the family room.

"16 Questions You Need to Ask Your Contractor"
16 Questions to Ask your Contractor We put together a handbook called "16 Questions You Need to Ask Your Contractor." This easy-to-read guide provides the perfect starting point for any remodeling project, offering advice on how to interview any remodeling contract.

While homeowners often quote horror stories from friends who remodeled with an unscrupulous company, they often don't know how to start with a level playing field and compare designers or contractors. This guidebook gives you those details. If a contractor can't provide this information, then, in all likely hood, he or she should not be considered to execute your project.

The handbook is available online (http://www.divinekitchens.com/jlive2/resources/2.html) and may be downloaded as a pdf.
